Follow Up:::We are very sorry that you feel this way and your experience resulted in this situation. Many steps were taken to resolve this and our Service Department Manager and General Manager spent time with you on Saturday to try to come to a resolution. The 2003 cargo van you recently purchased in Michigan for your cross country trip does have various mechanical concerns, as do most vehicles with 200,000 miles. You brought the van to us with a concern about a misfire and not running properly, which was diagnosed and repaired. We quoted you a price to repair the original malfunction and that was an accurate estimate, which is the standard rate you will find for that repair. During the inspection, you were shown transmission failure in reverse and then shown how contaminated your transmission fluid was. There was an estimated excess of 3 quarts of transmission fluid in your vehicle and all of these items could lead to transmission failure in many vehicles. We offered to fix it for an extra cost and you refused. Unfortunately, due to the year and miles there was no warranty coverage to pay for the transmission repairs. We are a company that is dedicated to helping customers with their automotive needs and strive to give the very best customer service. We know that the key to having this continue is to provide a great experience to everyone we have the pleasure of working with.
