If 0 stars was an option, it would still be an understatement as to how bad this experience was. Looking at the 2018 Ram Promaster posted for $25,910 for my new business - 1st visit (2/8) asked Za understatement as to how bad this experience was. Looking at the 2018 Ram Promaster posted for $25,910 for my new business - 1st visit (2/8) asked Zack the new price (was crossed out on the site) & he said it was $600 less. I was already approved through BOA but Zack said “the owner’s policy doesn’t allow them to take outside financing” so I’d have to pay in cash or finance through them, & they’d likely give me around 15% interest rate under my business... Left because that didn’t sound right, & called Cody (Finance Manager) who contradicted Zack saying, "we can make exceptions if you already have a loan approval". I take all my cars/trucks to my mechanic for a 2nd opinion before buying (& recommend everyone does the same!) & Zack confirmed that’d be ok. Came back yesterday (2/11) ready to buy & they insisted on agreeing to numbers before taking it to inspection. Cody got more and more aggressive and agitated as we tried to negotiate price – He only took $100 off the sticker price, & then tried to add $3k+ fees to the price and claim they were “non-negotiable”: $1995 "Propack Warranty" (that they later admitted was only $700 cost to them...) $499 Dealership Fee $872 Safety Inspection Fee $703 Gov Fees $1069 Processing Fee So I asked what the fees were for – Per Cody, the “Warranty” included a few oil changes, inspections, and a few other things (that didn’t equate to anywhere NEAR $2k), & the Dealership & Safety fees were to fix the vehicle & ensure it's safe when THEY bought it - meaning they wanted to forward that cost onto the NEW buyer... I asked to pull off the $1995, $499, & $872 fees - Cody came back and discounted all but $300 in fees to $30k out the door - I agreed (since it seemed like he was at least trying to work with me, despite being visibly agitated and aggressive for whatever reason), but if the mechanic said something was wrong, we’d have to re-negotiate based on those costs. Car-X found the back tires had uneven wear & low tread & would need to be replaced soon, & a transmission seal was leaking fluid. We got back to the dealer & told them, & they both got excessively more aggressive as they tag-teamed talking to us. I asked Zack if they could replace the tires & fix the leaking seal, who said he’d “discount the price so I can take it somewhere else to get fixed”. I asked why their supposedly “wonderful” mechanics couldn’t do it? He walked away & Cody come over practically SCREAMING that it passed all of the safety inspections, I was asking too much, they only replace the tires 5/18” or less (tread is usually measured in 32nds - 1/32" (Bald) to 11/32" (New), so obviously had no clue what he was talking about), called my mechanic a liar, & claimed that since we already agreed to this price, I HAD to take it without any more negotiation & they’d do nothing to help me. After spending 10+ minutes trying to YELL & intimidate me into taking the car “because I wouldn’t find anything else like this at any other dealership”, I walked out. I still can’t comprehend how a manager can speak to customers in such a brash, disrespectful, & overbearing manner & still expect people to buy. Had Cody calmed down & had a calm conversation about working with me on 2 TIRES & A SEAL rather than resort directly to screaming & yelling, he would’ve had my business (maybe even if they DIDN'T do the tires/seal!) This seems to be a common occurrence with this dealership after reading though other reviews – maybe train your salesman & managers how to speak to people respectfully & you won’t lose paying customers. Will never step foot in this place again. More
I bought a used van here first they lowballed my trade in claiming they were going to wholesale it. It was a 2017 Bolt with 43K miles. It's now for sale on their website. They were far from transparent with claiming they were going to wholesale it. It was a 2017 Bolt with 43K miles. It's now for sale on their website. They were far from transparent with their negotiations typical used car salesman smoke and mirrors. However, I do like the vehicle I bought which is why this is two stars and not one. If The Car Store in Aurora had what I was looking for I would've been shopping there hands down they're straightforward and easy to work with everything Mcgrath Kia was not. More
