November 2024 (also posted to Google): Overall, probably the WORST dealership experience I've ever had. This story is so long and drawn out that it is hard to cover all of the details succinctly. But my per the WORST dealership experience I've ever had. This story is so long and drawn out that it is hard to cover all of the details succinctly. But my personal experience has caused me to involve the State Attorney General for misrepresentation. Overall their tactics included: - Increasing the price of the vehicle by $3,500 AFTER we already signed and tried to pick up the car (they tried to redirect the state rebate to themselves) - Sneaking add-ons and extras that we specifically said we did not want into the contract ("But I thought you changed your mind?") - The general manager lied about his name and position and said "There is nothing I can do, you'll have to speak to Richard" (this was told to me by Richard himself) And yet I read all of this great reviews here. I was starting to think I was the only one. However, in speaking with a friend, I told him, "Hey, I just bought this Hyundai and it was borderline illegal what they were doing." His response was, "Oh, was it McGovern?". Turns out he had a terrible experience as well! So, do NOT go to this dealership if you: - plan to negotiate price at all - don't want their service add-ons like fabric treatments - are leasing a new electric vehicle This dealership is probably fine if you: - don't mind paying premium - will just say "yes" to everything they throw at you I won't be surprised if I see a response here from the owner saying something about being a difficult or unreasonable customer. Once I started catching them in lies, we definitely we not seeing eye to eye. After giving them 4 chances to fix the situation, my last resort is to post my review in the hopes of saving someone from being taken advantage of. I'm happy to speak with anyone at Hyundai who would like to better understand this situation and the issues going on at McGovern. More
