I purchased my last two vehicles from McDonough Nissan and scoured the state to try and find a better deal before I purchased them, there was no one who could match either deal. I would recommend McDonough Nissan to friends and family. Ask for George! More

All Veterans and Service members beware This is an absolutely horrible dealership. Avoid this dealer at all costs. They are rude , unprofessional, and unethical. Who we are: I am a 100:/ This is an absolutely horrible dealership. Avoid this dealer at all costs. They are rude , unprofessional, and unethical. Who we are: I am a 100:/ disabled Veteran who served in the United States Military Police Corps for 23 years. I am also a Licensed Minister who serves as the Director of Evangelism at my local church in Columbus, Ga. My wife is an educator of 21 years and is still currently teaching tomorrow’s future. Why who we are matters : We are educated, honest people who believe in serving others with honesty and integrity. If they would do it to us....they would do it to anyone! Our Story: My wife and I found a Ram 2500 on Car Gurus and were directed to McDonough Nissan. After conversing with the salesperson Quentin telephonically several times, we informed him that we wanted the vehicle and that we would be coming to test it out. The first red flag was that when we arrived the vehicle had not been cleaned. It was completely muddy and disgusting.....inside and out. The second red flag was that when we went for a test drive we were never asked to present a valid drivers license. Most credible dealers ensure that the person coming to purchase a vehicle has a valid drivers license before they take them on a test drive. Our test drive consisted of us driving a half mile to a gas station and the sales person putting a few dollars of fuel in the vehicle which amounted to less than a quarter tank. And then him telling us to go back to the dealership. After getting back to the dealership we haggled with the sales rep and his manager over the price and they brought up the usual jargon about a reconditioning fee and all of the other fees that they didn’t add to the vehicle. I knew these were all lies. But I figured if we could get the vehicle within the price range that we wanted and convince the dealer to replace the tires that were worn out we would do the deal. We decided that we would purchase the vehicle and the sales rep stated that they would get the vehicle cleaned up and we could come back the next day and pick it up. Keep in mind we live two hours away. When we returned the next day the vehicle had not been cleaned and was not ready. So we had to wait around until they put the tires on and clean the vehicle. The previous day we told the sales rep and his manager that the vehicle would be used partially for our business and that we had to have the vehicle titled in our business name. When we went to sign the paperwork I asked the sales manager if our business name was on the title paperwork. He stated no I can only put what’s on the check. At this point I had to call the bank and prove to him that it was legal for me to add our business name to the title. He was not happy about having to change the paperwork and from this point forward he had a filthy attitude .He then asked me why do I have to have my business name on the title. I didn’t think that was any of his business but I explained it to him anyway. At this point I could see his frustration and I did not want to reciprocate so I just put my head down and meddled with my phone and allowed my wife to finish the paperwork. Upon completing everything, he walked out of the office and stood by the door as if to say what are ya’ll waiting for. No one escorted us to our vehicle, no one showed us the features of the vehicle. The sales person said that the vehicle came from Enterprise but I noticed that Enterprise was nowhere listed on the Carfax. That may be a minor thing but it was just an observation. I realize that when purchasing a pre-owned vehicle you do not get all of the perks as when purchasing a new car, however we were dropping almost $42,000 and we left feeling like we had just left John Doe’s used car sales and not a bona-fied major car dealership. At this point I told my wife let’s just leave. We left with no gas in the vehicle. I got in the vehicle, started it up and less than 1 mile from the dealership the check engine light came on. I called the sales rep and informed him that I would be bringing the vehicle back. When I got back to the dealership the sales manager came out and took the vehicle. After a short wait he came back and said we will figure out the problem and deliver it to you tomorrow. After two days of not hearing anything I got the suspicion that something was wrong with this vehicle. I called the sales rep and the general manager Chuck Tolar and told him that we did not want that vehicle and told him that I was coming to pick up my check and that we would search elsewhere. Chuck persisted to tell me that they don’t have a return policy. I stated to him I’m not returning the vehicle I never brought it home. At any rate he basically in short order stated that they’ve got their check and whatever happens now is between me and the bank. I asked him if I could speak to his manager or boss he stated that there is no one higher than me. I asked him who is the owner? He stated that my owner doesn’t talk to customers that’s why he hired me. Then he stated you didn’t ask for a warranty. I told him that I would not take a vehicle that was flawed before I even got it home. It was a used vehicle, but the sticker price was $41,600. He began to tell me how if I didn’t take the vehicle it would mess up my credit and count as a repossession.I explained to him that I wasn’t concerned about that but I was not going to take a vehicle that was a lemon out of fear of messing up my credit. The sales rep gave me the number to the Dodge dealership where the vehicle is supposed to be repaired and I talked to the service manager there. He informed me that it was either one or two things wrong with the vehicle.....injectors or diesel exhaust system . Both of which are major engine deficiencies on a vehicle. The Dodge dealership stated that this was a bad deal and offered to trade me out of this lemon. I contacted Chuck on several occasions to see if he would make it right and allow me to trade out of this vehicle or return my check and he refused. He insisted that these issues are covered under warranty. Lies. The warranty for this vehicle is 3 years 36,000 miles and the vehicle has 54,000 miles on it. The 5 year 100,000 mile warranty only covers the power train. I am in the process of organizing an army of volunteers consisting of veterans, school teachers, service members, and many others who believe in consumer rights. We will boycott this business and expose them and their predatory behavior. This business has an F rating with the better business bureau. Don’t take my word for it.
