Overall, it was a good experience, but I am very disappointed that lack of diligence resulted in an Owner's Manual not being provided with the car that I purchased. If you call to inquire about a repair you will be put on hold, hung up on repeatedly and someone will even begin dialing the phone while you’re on the line. Every experience, at least 4, with this service d hold, hung up on repeatedly and someone will even begin dialing the phone while you’re on the line. I had a mostly good experience at McDonald Hyundai. Bottom line McDonald did not price gouge when many other dealerships ate charging $5-10K over MSRP. I bought my vehicle at at MSRP + min mandat Bottom line McDonald did not price gouge when many other dealerships ate charging $5-10K over MSRP. I bought my vehicle at at MSRP + min mandatory add ons. There are several areas where they could have improved their service. Here are a few... 1. When the delivery date changed, I was consistently "pulling" the updated info from them vs them "pushing" it to me. 2. Initial call. I talked to a sales associate. He said he'd all back in 5 minutes. 35 minutes later I called back and got a different sales associate. The original sales associate called back 45 minutes later. I was about 2 minutes from calling Hyundai of Pueblo who also sells at MSRP. 3. I was told there would be no add included. In closing day, the manager added etching. I didn't ask for it and was never told to expect it. I asked to meet half way and split tge cost. He wouldn't meet me half way -- he immediately pulled out the take it or leave card. It wasn't worth it to cancel the contract after waiting 3 months, but it wasn't a good experience. It soured my experience on principle. Would it have been worth meeting me in the middle for $100 to show good faith? I think it would have been. 4. On pick up day, I waited 30 minimum after our agreed upon meeting time and no one approached me to say my sales associate would be a half hour late. Once again, it is a respecfullness thing. 5. I was forced to finance with them for 6 months at a rate 3% higher than USAA's quote. I'd never do this in other markets. I am forced to refinance asap. 6. I had several changes in delivery date. 4 to 5 changes and about 60 days of additionalwaiting. I was told my original car was damaged during delivery, however I read previous reviews that the same sales associate sold their "saved" vehicle to someone else. I'll trust that the SUV was damaged, but I would have expected them to tell me this right away. There are many Positives: 1. Very friendly sales associate who was up front about total price and min refinance time (6 Months). 2. No Added charges above MSRP. Phil Long In Colorado Springs was trying to get 5K to $10,000 over asking price -- very shady. Hyundai of Pueblo is the other dealership that was offering fair MSRP pricing. 3. The F & I experience was not pushy. I went to the YAA website to learn how to avoid F &I pitfalls, but as it turned out there was no pressure. 4. Great job by my sales associate going over the many features of my new Palisade on purchase day. 5. The parts shop put on the roof rack for no charge, That was a really nice gesture. They made up a lot of good will. 6. People were nice and respectful to my mother who was with me. The market will change in the next few months/year and it will be a buyers market again. McDonald's fair pricing practices will be remembered when we buy future vehicles and affect who I refer to Hyundai dealerships. In the end things could have been handled better, but they were much more fair than other dealers. It is well worth driving 30-60 minutes to save $5-10K. I will likely get my next EV from McDonald or from Pueblo. I'll avoid Phil Long forever after a couple shady experiences with them. More
Doe Snyder and John O'Hanlon went above and beyond to get me my car. I live in AK, the dealer is in CO and they overcame all obstacles of distance and lenders reluctance to lend to someone who lives in AK, o me my car. I live in AK, the dealer is in CO and they overcame all obstacles of distance and lenders reluctance to lend to someone who lives in AK, outside the continental US. Then when I was too sick to come to the dealership they kept the car and loan for me. I can't say enough about Doe and John, to make sure things were right for the buyer's circumstance. I intend to fly to CO next year to buy from them again, the experience was so positive I do not mind driving the car back to AK. Experiences like this should occur at every dealer. Big Alaska thanks to Doe and John. More
I’m honestly surprised by so many good reviews for this place. I have never gone out of my way to write a poor review before.. but here I am because it has been that bad. To start wit the salesman pressur place. I have never gone out of my way to write a poor review before.. but here I am because it has been that bad. To start wit the salesman pressured me to come in on a day my husband couldn’t come with me. I told him I’d prefer to come the next day with him but he said I. Had to come that day because it was better for him. He said everything would be ready so it could be smooth. The car came out of detail FILTHY. Wrappers, trash, crumbs. He sent it back and again.. still dirty! Beyond that he knew nothing about the car and couldn’t show me the features I was looking forward to. After getting the car home my husband checks it over it has a disguising air filter, which would be basic mechanical checkup… so that goes to show how thorough they are… the shocks are totally shot which will be $500 to replace, the speakers in the back don’t work and there’s a tear in the cloth of the door. We also only got one key and it’s the fob kind so that’ll be $300 to have another made. I called to tell the managers of our experience and after apologizing profusely and promising to call back with a solution he never called. I called again and spoke to another, same thing happened. Third manager we talked to offered us $200 for the detail.. we said that’s great but it doesn’t rectify the hassle, inconvenience, poor service and he said he’ll work on a solution and get back to us. They did send the $200 but then never heard from them again. We were waiting to wire the remaining $1000 we owed until they fixed the issues and they never did. They called us months later asking for the money and we said we assumed you were writing it off to make things right (they had already sent us the title) the manager said he’s sorry but we signed a contract and we’re being shady. I told him he’s doing bad business selling a xxxxty car with problems not disclosed to the customer and if he wants to make it right he’ll cover the cost of the problems with the car and he said no. He was rude, condescending, and only cared about his money. Horrible business, horrible experience. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere where they actually care to do GOOD honest business and take responsibility when they mess up. More
I dropped my car off to this location to get it serviced. Hours later I receive an unbelievably rude voicemail from Jay Centeno stating that the car was "Distasteful and to either clean the car or remove it Hours later I receive an unbelievably rude voicemail from Jay Centeno stating that the car was "Distasteful and to either clean the car or remove it from their property because no mechanic wanted to work on the car and that it was the worst car that he has ever seen". This was confusing because the car had been completely cleaned out AND vacuumed before it was taken in. I took it immediately to another location where they completed repairs with no issues at all. Jay Centeno is incredibly unprofessional, incompetent, and needs to be fired. This location SUCKS. Go somewhere else. More
Micah Levy made the whole process quick and painless and easily the smoothest car purchase I have ever made. He was prompt and responsive to all my inquiries and I really can't think of anything that could have gone better. The finance manager Spencer was also really helpful and patient in finalizing the process. Other dealerships in the area I spoke to used high pressure tactics that drove me away only to keep trying to follow up afterwards as if we had never even spoken. This was not the case with McDonald Hyundai. It was clear they treated me fairly and put in the effort to work closely with me throughout the process. The dealership also made sure to do plenty of follow-up about my purchase of my 2023 Kona EV. Overall this has been a great experience. More
Five Star across the board! My experience with McDonald Hyundai and especially my Sales Consultant, Gary Clayton was superior to any I've had. Gary quoted me the exact price I My experience with McDonald Hyundai and especially my Sales Consultant, Gary Clayton was superior to any I've had. Gary quoted me the exact price I'd expect to pay and made the sale in minimum time with no time consuming bargaining games or additional fees and expenses added at the last moment. Unlike dealers in Colorado Springs, there wasn't the additional $5000 "Market Adjustment" added to the price at th beginning of the sale. Highly recommended and hope to purchase several more cars from Gary! Thank You!! More
Hands down, WORST customer service I have ever received. Immediately request another advisor if he is assigned to you. He is absolutely impossible to reach, doesn’t listen to voicemail, does not respond to Immediately request another advisor if he is assigned to you. He is absolutely impossible to reach, doesn’t listen to voicemail, does not respond to email and has zero interest in taking care of his customers. My 2016 Tucson was at the dealership for 3 MONTHS - he initially screwed up the pre-authorization claim, didn’t turn in the correct paperwork, and then made excuses, ignored my calls and those from my advocate at Hyundai corporate - I would go WEEKS without a response. I don’t know how McDonald can keep someone this horrible at their job on the payroll. More
