New Car Purchase (almost) My wife and I went to this dealership to purchase a new 2019 Ford Edge. After having an extremely positive interaction with the salesperson, Toya, we My wife and I went to this dealership to purchase a new 2019 Ford Edge. After having an extremely positive interaction with the salesperson, Toya, we were escorted back to the finance office. Prior to this step, I informed our salesperson that I was not interested in the extended warranty, but understood the finance employee would need to explain it as an option. I expressed my concern that I did not want to be sold to or for the warranty to be pushed on us. When we went into the finance office, we filled out all paperwork except for the final purchase order. The finance worker, Josh, explained the warranty and GAP coverage but when we stated we were not interested (no less than 4 times) he began to make sarcastic and unprofessional comments such as “I guess you like paying full price for repairs” and “I guess you don’t care about your new car.” My wife and I stopped the process at that moment and walked out of the dealership. The finance person did not appear to care that we walked out, however the salesperson followed us out and begged us to reconsider. After about 3 minutes of discussion on why we would not be purchasing a vehicle from McCombs West, the finance person came out and very casually said, “I removed the warranty can we finish the deal?” with neither care nor consideration for our experience. I sincerely feel bad for the salesperson but hope she realizes the impact her finance counterpart had on this lost sale. More
