As a single mom, a car an pricing is very important. Troy often stopped what we were doing to find a coloring book or game for my very active son, as he could see me trying to finish paperwork an corral my son. They never made me feel like I was bothering them as other dealerships did when I was shopping around. Derek worked hard to keep the payment where I needed. Daryl was great in finance an let me joke around and ask questions..He even took time to fully explain everything about the financial an warranty aspect of the purchase.. I appreciate them all for their help an am thankful to them. This dealership as a whole- exudes professionalism. They work well as a team an they are very informed an knowledgeable about their job. I will be back there when i decide to trade my new charger in an look forward to seeing those guys as I have the maintenance done on my new vehicle. Felt like a typical car buying experience Everything was great with my visit, until we got to the price. I had told the salesman (Mike) repeatedly that I really just wanted their best price on Everything was great with my visit, until we got to the price. I had told the salesman (Mike) repeatedly that I really just wanted their best price on the Jeep and best offer for our trade in. I really hate to haggle. The entire reason i went to LSCDJ was due to the fact that their website listed the original price around $30k but the Lee’s Summit special at $27k, which seemed accurate with prices around town. I wanted to shop at the Lee’s Summit dealership because we live in town and want to establish a relationship with a dealership that we can buy multiple cars from. Mike comes back with an offer sheet that has the car at the original price. When I asked why it wasn’t at the price listed on their website, he stated “we have to do that to get you in the door, but that’s not the price.” At that point I was finished. There is already a lot of angst and distrust when buying a car, and that statement completely ruined any sense of trust. From that point on I am sure I wasn’t very pleasant, but I felt the impulse to try to get rock bottom prices because I felt like I was being squeezed. This is not the way buying a car should feel. I want to feel like I got a good deal, like the dealership got a good outcome, and the salesperson got a decent commission. This did not feel that way from the second he made those comments. Prior to this, I have purchased my last two cars with the local Honda dealership. Though i had two different salespeople, my experience was excellent both times. In fact, the only reason we opted to come to the Lee’s summit Jeep dealerships was because I’ve always wanted a Grand Cherokee and finally was in a position to acquire one. Case and point, I asked if they would fill up the tank, as it was almost empty, and the response I got was “we typically only do that for new cars.” What!?!? At the end of the night, I was exhausted and agitated, rather than excited. That’s not how I have felt in any previous car buying experiences. My wife plans to purchase a Jeep Wrangler within the next two years. I would like to keep driving Grand Cherokees for the long term. We will be taking our business somewhere else. On a positive note, really the only one I can find, the Finance Manager we dealt with was very kind. I know my experience may not matter, but it felt awful. In fact, had I not wanted to have to go through a similar negotiating process at another Jeep dealer, I probably would have just walked away. Sorry for the rant, but I wanted to be honest so you can do better for the next family. More
