My wife and I have worked with Garrett Oxnaes for several weeks to research and ultimately purchase a Mazda 6. I am very satisfied with the overall service received from Mazda of Elk Grove. Grant was extremely professional and efficient and made the end of the process smooth and fast. However, I did feel a difference when buying a USED car versus a NEW car. I felt that more priority and attention was given to those buying new cars vs used cars. I think all customers should be treated the same regardless if they are purchasing a new or used vehicle. Also, staff should be allowed to use cellphones only for work purposes and not for personal use. Apart from these little glitches, Mazda of Elk Grove is a great place to buy a car. Most of their staff is great, friendly and helpful. More

My experience with Mazda of Elk Grove and Garrett, the salesman, could not have gone better. I live in Reno and originally decided on the Mazda 6 Grand Touring after test driving it at our local dealershi salesman, could not have gone better. Amazingly enough I had a hard time getting the local dealership to call me back. I had done a request for a quote online and originally thought all the calls might be annoying, that was until I talked to Garrett. He called me three times on his day off to answer my questions and let me know when he would be able to get the exact car that I wanted. He was very professional as well as friendly. I felt he went above and beyond what I would typically expect. Garrett's great help, as well as knowledge about the car, made me consider purchasing from him. What made my decision final was how well he negotiated a great price and made the three hour trip more than worth it for me and my wife. After the local dealership finally gave me some time on the phone, they called me all day long trying to get me to change my mind and purchase from them. They could not even come close to the professionalism, care, and price that Garrett gave me. Garrett even extended the warranty to 100,000 miles through their dealership. When we arrived at Elk Grove I was introduced to the sales manager, as well as other salesmen and the finance manager. Everyone was very nice and professional, and I could tell they really enjoyed working there. My wife and I were very impressed with how enjoyable the entire experience was from beginning to end, not to mention the car is absolutely incredible. We went in strictly to look and test drive as our friend works at a different Mazda dealership in service and told us about the friends and family discount. She also waited as I poured over the cars seeing if any of them would work for our family of 5 so we could get a better gas mileage than the minivan. We went and sat down with her and she asked if we were ready to work on a price. We told her about our friend and she said no problem, they could work with the discount and went on to explain the benefits of buying from Elk Grove, like the free car washes as long as you own the car! My husband wanted dark interior and only one color was available in the Touring package we wanted. Shailene offered to find us a different color at a different dealership but we opted to go with the blue one in stock. We purchased the car because of Shailene. If she had been pushy and/or not mentioned the benefits of buying close to home, we would have walked out of there and maybe bought a mazda but maybe not as we had been looking closely at Chevys and Toyotas. More

We do not live close to a mazda dealer, so we looked at a couple. what drove us to Elk Grove was mainly Garrett's prompt call and inquiry about what we were looking for. Matt was awesome!! Garrett was so helpful! While he was thorough and persuasive, he never once crossed the line by being pushy or impolite in any way, and we have very high standards! We did not come to the dealership to buy, but came with the intention of looking only. However, Garrett's thorough approach, his hard work on our behalf (he truly did everything possible to get the best possible deal for us), and his courteous, smart, and friendly yet professional demeanor impressed us so much. Of course, we love our car--the Mazda 3! Garrett truly knows his products, which helped us to decide to make the purchase as well. Similarly, Grant Saige did a great job in finance for us. I bought a 2013 Mazda 3 hatchback last week with the help of Ratish Singh. I couldn't find the color and interior trim that I wanted in the bay area so I went to Mazda USA and located it in Elk Grove. I ha of Ratish Singh. I couldn't find the color and interior trim that I wanted in the bay area so I went to Mazda USA and located it in Elk Grove. I had two other dealers tell me that the combination I wanted wasn't available any place on the west coast. This wasn't the case. Ratish confirmed for me they had the car and using email and phone we agreed on a price. Some dealers won't even do that -- they want you to come in person before they will negotiate. I think that puts the buyer at a disadvantage and means more time spent in the showroom. This is already a very time intensive process. Ratish gets high ratings from me for customer service, his helpful explanation of the car's features - including setting up the electronics - and his post sale follow up. He's friendly and appears to love his job. He speaks highly of his manager, Joseph Vo, and together they came up with an attractive price for me. Dave Hildago went through the paperwork as quickly as one can and offered but didn't pressure me on the maintenance and extended warranties. I'd suggest researching those before you come in to buy. I hadn't done this. Compared to the local dealers I visited in Redwood City and San Jose, Elk Grove offers better prices, better customer service, has an attractive showroom and a large inventory. I would give them 5 stars across the board if they could only figure out how to get a customer in and out in an hour. Even with the negotiation being done before I walked in the door, it took a few hours for me to check out the car, sign the papers, and get out the door. I can't comment on the service dept -- they offer free car washes and oil changes which I thought would be a great extra if I lived closer. More
