Great place to buy your next car. We found the used car we wanted on AutoTrader.com. It was out of my budget, so I reached out to Matt in internet sales. He researched it, and he said they would get as close as possible to our goal. We drove down from Tracy, not a bad drive and didn't realize how close they are to us. Since this is for my son heading off to college, we needed something reliable, economic and safe. Being a service adviser for a Toyota dealership myself, I was surprised that my son would want a Mazda 3, but soon found out why. We found the car to be sporty, yet very wallet friendly. From the first hello and handshake, through the process of coming to an agreeable deal and to the final goodbye and handshake, everything was perfect. Matt is personable, friendly and professional. Kyle in finance handled the paperwork like a pro. I headed into the Service Department, and was promptly greeted and had my questions answered for me. We bought a cool Mazda 3 license plate frame and the cashier was quite friendly as well. During the final delivery process, Matt took the car back to detail for a quick clean up, even though the car was very clean already. He even had the headlights polished for us! The last impressive thing that Matt did was help my son set up his bluetooth and showed him how the Pioneer Nav system worked. Everyone had a smile on their face and anytime we got within a few feet of someone we were greeted. You can FEEL the family type atmosphere when you walk in. I called him early in the day, inquiring about the cars available, as my husband and I already knew what car we wanted, and he was very accommodating with my questions. I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me on anything other than what I wanted, and simply showed me a couple of the options for what I wanted. When we arrived at the dealership, he had already pulled the car we wanted out, and we immediately went on the test drive where he helped us learn all the features, and told us more about the car. He went over all the features at length and was very friendly. The experience overall was great, he only showed us what we wanted to see, there was no pressure, and they worked as fast as they could through the paperwork once we decided wanted the car. Kyle helped us breeze through the finish line and explained all of the details about the warranty and optional protection plans with ease. Grant, the Sales Manager, was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to ensure I was happy. Garrett, my Sales Rep, also assisted in the process and made my transition to my new car extremely smooth. Last but not least, Kyle handled everything with my finance paperwork and made everything extremely easy for me. Gerlie was very responsive and communicative, even at odd hours, which I appreciated as I was purchasing during a very busy week. I was in contact with four different dealerships - Elk Grove is a two-hour drive from my house, so believe me when I say I was looking for reasons to stay local. The bottom line is that Gerlie won me over with her communication and willingness to work on a fair price. She made it clear she wanted my business and would work to make it happen. That made the drive more than worth it. And when I had to wait a day to take delivery, she brought it up to my house on a Sunday afternoon. Financing was quick and pretty painless. Kyle explained things clearly and answered all my questions. The only part of my experience that was less than pleasant was during the warranty/gap coverage up-sell. I felt I made it very clear to Kyle that we were not interested in additional/extended Mazda warranties; he responded with, "So you want to spend more money? You're OK with that? Can you explain why, for a corporate survey they make us fill out?" When I answered with, "I am satisfied with the warranty coverage included," he responded with, "I see, because the most common answers are 'I can't afford it' or 'I don't understand it.'" I get the tactic of getting me to react to the implication that I'm too broke or dumb, but it made my wife really uncomfortable. That portion aside, Kyle struck me as a pleasant, professional guy. All in all, if the worst part of a car-buying experience is a sales pitch you don't go for in financing (and I say "worst" very lightly), you can't complain, and that's the case here. It was an overall enjoyable experience and Gerlie's communication was clear, fair and aggressive (in a welcome way). :) More
