And yet another insult! Why on earth would I expect a different result if I called Eddie - you just want to waste more of my time! But this gives me a chance to warn readers of Maxon's nasty little trick; when I said I'm offering to pay the full advertised price, the salesman asked for my credit card to "prove that I'm making a serious offer". Naively, I gave it to him and, needless to say, I was stuck there (even though I knew they weren't going to sell at the advertised price) until I finally wrestled my card back from them. If the readers are determined to "see for themselves", I'd recommend calling your credit card company about a week before and telling them that you have lost your card. The cc company will send you a new one, and you can give the old (deactivated) one when Maxon asks, and then feel free to leave when you have seen for yourself that they don't honor their advertised price.
