Generally speaking, appointment times are for checking in with a Service Advisor, but a qualified technician will only pull your vehicle into a bay for diagnostics once they're finished with their previous vehicle. It's kind of like checking in at a doctor's office, but not getting to see the doc until they're finished with their last patient.
