Stay Away!! Very dishonest dealer . I drove 160 miles (80 each way) to purchase a Hyundai Tuscon after confirming that I would pay in cash and confirming all of the details of the cost . I drove 160 miles (80 each way) to purchase a Hyundai Tuscon after confirming that I would pay in cash and confirming all of the details of the costs. The salesman that I had texted with was off and I was given another salesman. He told me that 1. The price I had been quoted was based on the requirement that I finance the vehicle [I explicitly discussed and have text record that salesman confirmed that I was paying cash, not financing]. 2. The price that was listed online that I had been assured was accurate was an "internet glitch" i.e. not what was posted. 3. The offer I was given for a trade-in was lowballed - significantly less than a thoroughly inspected appraisal from CarMax. So the price after these three changes was not as good a price that I could have gotten at any of 3 local dealers. I understand that dealerships are out to maximize profits. I am all for capitalism but not if it involves bate and switch with dishonest practices. The manager was shown the text messages that I received confirming everything I had stated. His response was to have his salesman try to sell me on financing the car. Very bad experience. I have dealt with a lot of car dealers over the years this was by far my worst experience. The response from the owner is not honest. As my review indicates I went over all of the details of this intended purchase with one of his salesman. Is he honestly going to try to deny that his salesman when confronted with the facts of text messages with one of their other salesman then claimed the price must have been "an internet glitch" or that his salesman did not explicitly acknowledge in a text that I was not going to finance the vehicle? Does he want you to believe that CarMax doesn't know what they are doing when they appraise a car? I was going to let this go with a bad review. I now intend to file a complaint with both the Better Business Bureau and The Maryland State Department of Consumer Affairs. You can't cover up lies with more lies and not expect to be held accountable. Response from the owner in the last week We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to earn your business. Rust proof recall service It was simple to make an online appointment which was easy considering most car dealer appointments I have experienced in the past are not always easy It was simple to make an online appointment which was easy considering most car dealer appointments I have experienced in the past are not always easy or quick. The service adviser was friendly and efficient and the whole process handled professionally . Only one thing I wish they had done is check the low tire pressure alert. I forgot to point it out to the service adviser but think it should have been noticed by service tech when driving car in or out of servicing area. My forgetfulness also resulted in forgetting my cell phone which the service staff put back and saved until I realized it and returned to get it later. More
