Held hostage I showed up at this dealership with intent to buy. I knew what features I really needed and my price range. I had conducted research for months and I I showed up at this dealership with intent to buy. I knew what features I really needed and my price range. I had conducted research for months and I was ready to purchase my next vehicle. If I could give less then one star, I would. We were greeted shortly after beginning our walk to find my vehicle. But the greet was unprofessional. The entire the salesman had on, seemed more like a uniform then a professional setting. If I'm going to make a purchase worth thousands of dollars, I expect the employees to appear professional! After, finding the vehicle I was ready to buy, we were brought inside and the salesman walked away. He was gone for several minutes and returned with paperwork to fill out and then left again! We were standing there waiting, then sat there waiting, and then finally he returned to then walk away again. Several employees walked by without saying a word to even greet us. One other person asked if we were being helped. Finally we were on the test drive. I explained I was not familiar with the area and would need instructions on where to go; the salesman waiting until I was halfway past the turn before stating I needed to turn. It was by far the worse test drive I've ever done! I still gave another chance after the poor customer service, and provided information for numbers to be run. This is where I drew the line. Not only did they have a lower priced vehicle then the other dealership I had just left, they also completely low balled the trade in value, by thousands! They came back with a lease payment option! Even after being told we wanted to purchase. This whole situation just grew even worse once we decided to leave. The salesman had my key. We clearly explained we wanted to leave but yet he walked away with the key after we explained we wanted it back in order to leave. Literally held hostage so they could provide different numbers. My husband went and demanded the key so we could leave. After leaving I was contacted by this salesman and yet again, a lease option was provided, and another law ball offer for a trade in value! I explained (again!) kindly that I was not interested in purchasing? from folks that are conducting business the way they were and explained this review would be written. After hanging up, he called again, left no message. Called again and left a nearly 2 minute voicemail trying to explain that he worked the numbers again and the other dealership must be twisting numbers and taking value from here and applying there; but he was clueless the other dealership provided the true market value for my trade, took off the same amount of money as they claimed too, and still put me in a vehicle for a lower payment! I took my business to Hagerstown Honda. Massey could learn a lot from them. I did purchase a vehicle this day, but it was a Honda. I highly suggest Massey gain a more professional customer focused staff and whoever is working the numbers be fired. Selling cars is just the start of what could have been decades of business deals through myself and my family and friends. More
