NEVER USE THIS DEALERSHIP-THEY WERE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND ATTEMPTED TO USE UNDERHANDED, TACTICS TO SECURE THE SALE OF A FIRST TIME CAR BUYER! THE SALESMAN ATTEMPTED TO FORCE THE SIGNATURE ON A PIECE OF P AND ATTEMPTED TO USE UNDERHANDED, TACTICS TO SECURE THE SALE OF A FIRST TIME CAR BUYER! THE SALESMAN ATTEMPTED TO FORCE THE SIGNATURE ON A PIECE OF PAPER WITH A PRICE AND MONTHLY PAYMENT, REFUSING TO TELL US WHAT THE INTEREST RATE WAS WE HAD TO SIGN FOR, BEFORE WE COULD SPEAK TO A FINANCE MANAGER THAT WE HAD ASKED TO TALK TO. AFTER CONTINUED REFUSAL TO ALLOW US TO SPEAK TO HIM, WE RELUCTANTLY SIGNED THRU COERCION. WE MARKED THRU IT SAYING WE DIDNT AGREE TO THE RATES AND WERE TOLD PRICING COULD BE MATCHED. WE ASKED TO TAKE A PHOTO OF WHAT WE HAD SIGNED AND WERE TOLD IT WAS NOT ALLOWED, BUT I TOOK ONE ANYWAY. AFTER WAITING OVER 2 HOURS FOR OUR TURN, SO THEY SAID, TO SPEAK TO THE FINANCE MANAGER WHO WAS SUPPOSEDLY WITH OTHER PEOPLE, I WALKED INTO AN EMPTY OFFICE, ASKED THE YOUNG MAN IF HE WAS THE FINANCE MANAGER AND THAT WE HAD BEEN WAITING OVER 2 HOURS. HE SAID YES AND I TOLD HIM IT APPEARED THE INTEREST RATE FOR MY YOUNG FRIEND WAS AROUND 15%! HE SAID YES. I SAID THAT IS ABSURD AND THEN ASKED HIM TO MATCH THE PRICE. HE INFORMED ME WE HAD SIGNED A PAPER AGREEING TO THE PRICE! I TOLD HIM WE WERE FORCED TO SIGN IT IIN ORDER TO SEE HIM AND WERE TOLD IT DIDNT MEAN ANYTHING AND THAT WE COULD SHOW YOU THE PRICE WE HAD SEEN ON THE INTERNET. HE REFUSED AFTER CALLING THE SALESMAN IN. WE HAD COPIES OF INTERNET OFFERS AND THEIR OWN ADVERTISING SHOWING 6.9 % RATE FOR CREDIT THAT WE HAD. WHEN I SAID WE WERE ASKING OUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE, BEFORE SPEAKING TO THE FINANCE MANAGER, WHO ALSO DIDN’T SEEM TO VALUE OUR BUSINESS…WE WERE TOLD TO GO AHEAD IF THATS WHAT WE FELT WE NEEDED TO DO. THE NEXT MORNING WE DROVE TO TOWSON HYUNDAI WHERE WE WERE MET WITH PROFESSIONALISM, KINDNESS AND RECEIVED 6.99% INTEREST AND A TRUE APPRECIATION FOR THE SALE OF A FIRST TIME BUYER! IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND ALTHOUGH I DONT WISH THE MASSEY EXPERIENCE ON ANYONE, IT WAS GOOD FOR MY YOUNG FRIEND TO SEE THE EXTREME CONTRAST OF GOOD BUSINESS VERSUS SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES AND THOSE THAT THINK THEY CAN OPERATE THAT WAY! The best deal within 50 miles of Frederick for a new car. Currently 500 over MSRP. Great experience, other than convoluted internet pricing I hate the way pricing is shown on their website, where the "Freight" charge (that is shown as being included in the MSRP on the sticker), has to be a I hate the way pricing is shown on their website, where the "Freight" charge (that is shown as being included in the MSRP on the sticker), has to be added back into the discounted price shown on the internet in order to determine the actual selling price. Luckily I was able to determine that based on the comments posted by a previous irate customer, as opposed to being surprised by this charge upon arriving at the dealership. Supposedly, they present prices this way because their competitors in the area do the same thing. That being said, while I understand why they do it, I think all the dealers should be prevented from using this deceptive practice. Given the above, once I arrived at the dealership, the rest of the sales experience was truly EXCELLENT. Everyone was polite and professional. I had spoken to Travis W on the phone before making the 4-hour drive to the dealership, and then worked with Steve S for the rest of the sales process once I arrived at the dealership (Travis' earlier appointment ran long). Steve's demeanor made the sales process very pleasant. He was polite, professional, extremely thorough, and really knows the product he is selling. In summary, I highly recommend Massey Hyundai..... once you get past the convoluted internet pricing. More
