Ronald was outstanding to deal with and worked very hard to get me the exact match for the 2013 Volkswagen TDI Jetta Sportwagen as far as color and manual transmission which was difficult to get. I extremely satisfied that I received a car fresh from the factory with only 11 miles on it. More
Everyone was very nice and helpful. I had a great experience there and am very satisfied with my purchase. I felt very comfortable with everyone there, and was constantly made sure I would be getting experience there and am very satisfied with my purchase. Bob Blumenkopf made a worthy offer to me by email. I accepted his offer because I had determined that Bob's offered price was competitive and because I came to trust Bob and Bob's clear and no nonsense accepted his offer because I had determined that Bob's offered price was competitive and because I came to trust Bob and Bob's clear and no nonsense approach; and I appreciated that he worked well with me. Bob also went out of his way to obtain the exact 2012 Passat model that I preferred through trade with another dealership because Martens VW did not have that particular color of Passat SE model in inventory. My wife was unable to join me when I purchased our Passat so I want to say that she loves it too now that she's had a chance to drive it and examine it up close. Well done! More
Overall did a great job. Just wish that the gentlemen that cleaned the windows on the inside would be a little more observant. The windows were cleaned, but they also were streaked by the cleaner. Othe that cleaned the windows on the inside would be a little more observant. The windows were cleaned, but they also were streaked by the cleaner. Other than that, which really is not a big deal, nothing a window cleaner, some paper towels, and about 2 minutes to fix. \ I would definitely recommend someone to your service department and to visit with Mr. Dixon on the yellow team. The customer service in Martens VW is the worst I have ever experienced anywhere. Not only that they are rude and unhelpful, and obviously try to get rid of you as soon as possible, they workmanship is po ever experienced anywhere. Not only that they are rude and unhelpful, and obviously try to get rid of you as soon as possible, they workmanship is poor too. I had to bring my car twice for the same problem, and was not happy that my car was in undrivable state when I came to them a few weeks ago, even though it was checked out by them just five months prior. The list of things to be repaired or replaced was ridiculously long, and the only reason that a car with so few miles like mine, that was serviced by them every four months, can have so many problems, if that they don't know how to do their job. But on top of that, they are rude and very expensive. At the end, since I wasn't happy with the way I was treated, I was called mean (oh, yes, I'm quoting) and asked to take my business elsewhere, after I paid them hundreds of dollars. The manager Allen Stevenson was no where to be found, every time I called or e-mailed him, he didn't pick up or respond. It is just the worst place you can take you car, so save yourself a lot of money, time and stress. Go someplace else. More
Ernest and other employees were attentive, polite and professional. They listened to what I wanted and made an effort to address my concerns. When the car I purchased, which was located at another deal professional. They listened to what I wanted and made an effort to address my concerns. When the car I purchased, which was located at another dealership, was mistakenly sold, Martens found similar one (it had more optional equipment) and met the price we had agreed. More
Walked in with money in hand to buy a new VW for my mother. Ernest was friendly enough and she test drove the car we were looking for. We discussed how she did NOT want a sun roof but did want GPS. Onl mother. Ernest was friendly enough and she test drove the car we were looking for. We discussed how she did NOT want a sun roof but did want GPS. Only way to do it was to install the GPS. with the manager they figure out a way to do it and he goes on and how he is giving her a 2013 car for the price of a 2012 ( on the phone he quoted me the 2012 I asked for but when we get there he tells me he is selling the 2013 since he did not have the 12). They promised to call with a price. I check with other dealers and since he quoted me a 2013 his price was actually better so we agree to take their car and returned to sign the contract. We come in and after waiting for Ernest for 45 minutes we signed the check and then he tells me the car is now a 2012 and not the 2013. How do you like that? We copplain, naturally, and he "goes to speak with the manager" (you know, good cop bad cop) and agrees to the 2013 which is what we considered when we opted to come back to them as the better price as opposed to the other guys since he supposedly was quoting a 2012 price. At tha tpoint we still expect to sign the contract but we want to sign ton the car she test drove and then we find out that Ernest is not ready to sign the contract. We go back and forth and Ernest goes on and on about this would be for our protection (really?). At this point my mom is exhausted as we have driven, talked, researched, waited, argued our point and she just wants this over with. So, I put up with just getting a receipt (for $28.5K) and we agree that the GPS is going to be installed and then we would come in and waste another day to sign the contract when we pick up the car. BTW, I never heard of that before- I ordered a customized toyota for my nephew a year ago and gave a credit card to hold the vehicle. This time I had to drag my 73 year old mother and sit down time and again to give these guys the payment check in full before having anything but a receipt in hand and no contract? I should have known better then, I know. - But it gets better....We agree he will call me in 2-3 business days to pick up the car. He calls...but to tell me that the price he quoted me after we left the first time and confirmed when In came in the second time is no longer correct and the GPS installation is going to cost more. I tell him no, thank you very much, I want my check back. He starts arguing with me on the phone about how he is "trying to save (me) money". Nice. I calmly but firmly repeat I am coing in to pick up the check and that this would be the end of the conversation and he hangs up the phone on my face. He is mad, how do you like that? Maybe 3 minutes pass by and he is calling me back to let me know that they will honor the deal. Naturally I have no trust in what kind of work they will do in this car and what is to come next, so I call the manager and leave a message asking that he make sure that the check will be ready for me when I arrive. NOw I get phone calls from the manager (who had been involved in the deal back and forther re: price and installation of the GPS, so the dealer is not to be excuse, the salesperson it not alone in this, naturally), and they want to "make it work". I get there to get my check and thankfully it was there at the manager's desk. All I have to do now is get another check from the financial institution so I can get a car else where. From experience, I bought 3 cars in the past 4 years for myself and 2 different family memebers. No car dealer is the epitomy of straight talk, and you must have your wits about you, but none of those prior experiences were even close to this ordeal. And I am talking about completely different car dealers. These guys? Would not go near them even if my life depended on it. The offer may seem good, but it appears to be nothing but a bait. Beware. MARTENS VW does not honor warranty on parts they sales unless you complete the work in their shop and pay the exorbitant fees they charge. They committed fraud with me and they refused to honor the war unless you complete the work in their shop and pay the exorbitant fees they charge. They committed fraud with me and they refused to honor the warranty on a defective part that is still covered under the pretext that they cannot return the part to the VW part manufacturer. I do not care what they are going to say to the manufacturer. I bought the part from the dealership to not only get the best part, but also get the warranty as we all know that defects are inherent to mechanical parts. I paid extra and because I took it to a different shop to get it installed for half the price Martens VW was going to charge me to install it. When the part broken 9 months later, they refused to replace it. MARTENS VW is a FRAUD. This is illegal and unfair to customers. More
Nobody wants to hear that their low-mileage car has serious problems when they take it in for routine maintenance but that's what happened to me. Despite my disappointment with the car, I was very plea serious problems when they take it in for routine maintenance but that's what happened to me. Despite my disappointment with the car, I was very pleased with the Martens service, specially from Wayne, the orange team service advisor. Wayne explained the problem and kept me informed throughout the repair process. I appreciated that Martens provided me with a loaner car while the car was being repaired, which allowed me to go about my business. Thanks! More
