Gerald Waters our salesman at Mark Christopher Chevrolet went above and beyond what you would epect in a auto salesman. He drove all the way to San Diego to pick up the truck for us but on arriving there to get it was told that Rotolo Chev. had taken the truck. Calling us he explain they had a 2012 GMC Canyon. Basically the same truck. We said ok with us. We are very happy with the Canyon and glad we had the opportunity to get it. Gerald worked very hard for us to get us what we wanted. In the future when we need another new vehicle we will certainly go to Mark Christopher, every person there we spoke to was polite and helpful. On the other hand we will never deal with Rotolo Chevrolet again there was no excuse for what they tried to do in getting us to purchase the truck from them. We hope Gerald Waters has many more successful years at Mark Christopher Chevrolet. More
FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! We saw an ad in the LA times that was advertising a 2012 Cadillac SRX Luxury Collection for lease for $499 down $289 per month for a 39 month lease. It went on to list the details of was advertising a 2012 Cadillac SRX Luxury Collection for lease for $499 down $289 per month for a 39 month lease. It went on to list the details of the navigation, surround sound, and other features that you get for $7,000 over the base model. This was exactly what we were looking for, so we called to verify with a salesman by the name of Johnny. He said yes it was in stock and it was exactly as the ad described it, but he told us to hurry before it would be sold. So my pregnant wife left work a half day early to make sure and get to the dealership before it was sold out. When she was on her way, she called again to verify that it was in fact in stock and had the details and to let the salesman know she was on her way ready to lease the vehicle. I then called and verified the same information and the salesman said that they run these specials towards the end of the year, like it was normal. Once my wife gets there after driving 30+ miles in Friday traffic to get there before the car sold, the salesman checked out the car and found out that the car that they were advertising was a misprint and that he said it was incorrect in the system and offered 5 gallons of gas instead of honoring the mistake like they should. Later in the evening after 4 calls to the dealership, I finally got in touch with the sales manager who could only offer me the correct car that was advertised, but for a price that was $100 more per month, which was in fact the full price for the vehicle. The typical bait and switch. He was very kind as I was very calm with him on the phone and I let him know that I would be reporting this to the BBB as well as other authorities for false advertisement. I have worked in sales the last 10 years and part of that was retail sales, and if we did not have a correction on our front door of an ad as well as on the product and in the department, then we honored the wrong price without question. This is the proper way to take care of a customer. I hope that nobody else gets taken by this dealership for false advertisement/ bait & switch! UPDATED: 8/18/12 After being told that the ad would be retracted, it was in the paper again for the second straight day exactly as it was the day before. More
