Bought over 7 cars in last 10 years and this was the best experience I’ve ever had and also the first Ford my family ever owned. After this purchase my family and I our proud and will be loyal Ford customers from now on and will only purchase and bring our car for service at mall of ga Ford. Poor experience I am sad to say that the experience with Mall of Georgia Ford was not good. My experience with my salesperson was good overall. He was friendly and kn I am sad to say that the experience with Mall of Georgia Ford was not good. My experience with my salesperson was good overall. He was friendly and knowledgeable about the Ford F-150 that I wanted to purchase. The physical space was pleasant and I was offered coffee and water. However, it really fell apart after this. When it came time to actually purchase the vehicle I wanted, the manager told me he could get it from another dealership. We came to an agreement on the price and I signed off that I would move forward with the agreement. I paid my down payment and I went through the financing process (paperwork, etc.). They told me it would be about 72 hours for the vehicle to be transferred, which was fine. About two days later, the manager called me to tell me that the other dealership would not release the vehicle because they had a pending sale. When I asked why he didn't ask before we came to an agreement and I paid money to them, I didn't get much of an answer. He did offer to get a similar vehicle from Florida. I later contacted the nearby dealer that supposedly had the truck in question and they still had the truck! They said it was getting a recall completed and it was available again now. For some reason that dealer could not do the same deal, so I called Mall of Georgia back and inquired about getting the truck from Florida. When I asked if the same deal would be in place, my salesperson said yes. Later, however, he called and said the price had gone up. He stated that the dealership would take care of the cost of transport, but the truck had "more options" than the one we had agreed upon. The manager had sent me the window sticker and the MSRP on the truck in Florida was less than the one that I had agreed upon in Georgia. Where did the extra cost come from if they were taking care of the transportation cost and the window sticker showed less? I declined and informed them of my displeasure. A few days later I got a call from someone at the dealership stating that they had received paperwork from the financing department about installing my bed liner and then asked me when I wanted to come in to get it installed. When I called back to inform that that I hadn't actually purchased the truck, I had to leave a voice mail. They haven't called me back. I am worried that they are going to mess up the financing process, which could negatively impact my credit. At least I got my deposit back I suppose. I thought car buying had evolved into something better since the last time I purchased a vehicle, but this is the worst experience I have ever had. I am now considering not even buying a Ford vehicle at all because I had such a bad experience with trying to purchase an F-150. More
