My wife and I went to Madison Honda on September 29, 2012 to look at a new CR-V to purchase. We were met by a very friendly and knowledgeable salesman by the name of Kamal Bawa. We initially looked at the 2012 models but realized they might be out of our price range. So, Kamal recommended that we might want to consider a certified pre-owned model. We immediately found several in our price range. Kamal was able to show us several different cars, none of which were appealing to us due to high mileage, condition, or lack of upgrades. Then, Kamal found the perfect car for us on a back lot, which was not yet certified but he said he could get certified for us that day. After deciding upon the car, we were able to successfully negotiate a price that was fair and acceptable to us, without too much hassle and haggling. Kamal even agreed to give us new tires and detailing as part of the certified price, and to fill up the car with gas. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and Kamal was very helpful and reasonable. I was incredibly fearful of going through the daunting process of buying my first car as a single woman, but felt no pressure from Richie and in addition, felt assured that he was taking my concerns, needs and financial limits in consideration throughout the process. These two men made sure that I was able to leave the lot with a new car at a reasonable price (on the day that my former car croaked) and continue to follow up with me on satisfaction in a manor that is assuring. We had a no pressure approach from this dealership. The salesman (Mark S.) was friendly, responsive and very efficient. He contacted us as soon as he found cars that met the needs we described. He was willing to work with us on the pricing which was a little higher than we wanted but not unfair. So far we couldn't be happier with the 2010 Accord EX that we purchased and I am thrilled that my wife loves it more than I have ever seen her love any car that we (or she) has owned in the past. The car we purchased had 2 problems - discoloration of the paint on several areas of the hood which we hadn't noticed in the daylight and a defective front floor mat. When I called about these issues Mark was extremely responsive to our request for help. Mark procured a replacement mat immediately and called me back the same day- I really appreciated this. I was sure it would take a long time or it would be forgotten since I had had this type of thing happen at other dealerships in the past. The paint issue was something that the service department had tried to fix but was unable to. It appears that it is something that would require repainting the hood and would need to be paid for. At this point we did not want to do this but Mark was very honest about the situation and our options. My only complaint here is that this was a known issue and I wish they had let me know about it upfront instead of after the sale. We felt comfortable in the dealership and they make waiting there very pleasant (waiting area is good and coffee is great). I feel that we can stop in there anytime and feel welcome. Overall, a good experience that helped us dispel some to the stereotypes about car salemen and dealerships. We have had no service experience yet so I can't comment on this area of the dealership but I assume that it will be good. Thank you Madison Honda. More
