Buying my used (new to me!) Mini from Peter was my first car buying experience, ever. Although I had not intended to buy the very first car I ever test drove, I did! I told him my price goal and manual and after wandering the lot a bit, we found my perfect car! Because the car had just come in, he didn't have a lot of information about it right off the bat, but once we got back to the dealership from my fun test drive he made an effort to find out my car's history. Although I wasn't able to get Peter to lower the price of my car, I do feel I still got a good deal as it is a Mini and it was in practically perfect condition besides for a few dents. Peter and the other members of the Portland Mini were really supportive during the money process, where I had to do some finagling to make sure everything worked out. They also were awesome and put a new windshield and tires on my car! My one issue was that once I picked up my car (test drove on Saturday, paid/drove away on Wednesday), I had to go back to the dealership twice more to deal with things that I shouldn't have had to use the gas for (DEQ paperwork and picking up a lost key). Besides those two extra trips, I really enjoyed my first car buying experience with Peter. He was very communicative, texting continually about the buying/key process and gave me good advice about how to drive/care for my new car! I definitely would recommend Portland Mini and working with Peter. More
I had a wonderful experience buying my first Mini from Peter Hisey. I didn't know much about Mini going in, and Peter helped explain all the customizable features available. When it turned out the dealership didn't have the Mini I wanted, he helped me find it by accessing a larger inventory database. I only waited 3 weeks for the car to come in, not bad by Mini standards. When it arrived, the deal I was given for the new car and my trade was fair (after a couple back-and-forths). It was relatively painless and I was very happy with the service. There was a slight paperwork mix up, and I had to return to re-sign some things, but was compensated for my trouble. I would highly recommend working with Peter for your next Mini. He is a proud Mini owner himself, and is very knowledgeable about the car. He's friendly, funny, and not pushy - he even helped me re-learn how to drive a manual. When I decide to upgrade my Mini a few years down the road, I will definitely be calling Peter up for assistance. More

Sales and Finance worked with my less than perfect credit score, as well as finding a vehicle that met most of my criteria...not easy tasks. In spite of having what might be considered a 'captive market', due to the popularity and excellent price/value relationship of the MINI line, Peter Hisey was the most professional auto sales person with whom I have ever dealt! Additionally, the MINI facility (design/layout) is an excellent 'container' for the display, sale and service of MINIs. As a long-time professional in advertising and graphic design, I am quite sensitive to such things...hence my initial attraction to the MINI. FYI, my sister bought one last year and remains fanatically dedicated to it. If MINI pays attention to customer reviews regarding desired features and or any negative product aspects, MINI should become one of the most sought after vehicles in the world. A across the board price drop to compete with the Mazda 3 series would, of course, not hurt...lol. More

When my husband and I visited MINI of Portland, we had an idea of what we wanted, but seeing the cars in person made our decision much more difficult, so I was glad that Peter Hisey came out to greet us and idea of what we wanted, but seeing the cars in person made our decision much more difficult, so I was glad that Peter Hisey came out to greet us and show us the inventory. He showed us several models that weren't originally on our radar and when we left after that first visit, Peter asked us to go build our ideal MINI on the website and send it to him. A few days later, I finally got around to building my MINI on the web and called the next day to set up a test drive. Peter was super nice on the phone and when I told him we needed to test drive a manual and an automatic, he was very accommodating. We went in and Peter showed us the specs of cars that were close to what I built on the web and offered to let us test drive whichever one was closest to what we wanted. Miraculously, he managed to have one that was about 90% of what I asked for, so we took that one for a test drive. After the test drive, Peter let my husband and me talk about it and was very hospitable while we went back and forth about whether we wanted to take the leap and buy a brand new car. He didn't hover, so we could have an honest discussion with each other about the decision, which I appreciated. Once we made our decision, the process was as painless as can be expected when buying a car :) Peter and Jan both were very patient with us when we made mistakes on the info for the paperwork and they stayed late to make sure that everything would be ready the next day when we came back to pick up the car. After the sale, Peter checked up on us and made sure that everything was going well and that we were happy. In addition, when we needed to replace a part (due to our own negligence), Peter worked hard for us to make the replacement easy and convenient as well as getting us a great price. He went far above and beyond the expected to help us and I am grateful for his help. So, for the courtesy during the sale and the aftercare once we had possession of the car, I give Peter Hisey and MINI of Portland top marks. More
I've wanted a Mini Cooper for about as long as I can remember. Upon finally deciding to go for it, I built "my" Mini on the website and sent it off to Mini of Portland. Within the next thirty minutes he emailed me a batch of Minis that met my criteria, plus a couple optional things to consider- they were all on the lot, ready to go (to my surprise!) I'm not sure if you've ever tried to build-out a Mini, but the amount of options and packages at times seems endless. He offered up information and suggestions about all of the features in a completely honest and transparent way. It felt more like buying a car with a friend than from a dealer. When I arrived at the dealership, Peter took the time to really vet through each and every feature of the few variations of the Cooper S I had my eye on. Hours later, I was signing paperwork on a car that I can't believe is mine and off I went. The whole transaction was so casual and stress free that it's now the bar for how I'll rate big purchases in the future. To Peter and the team at Mini of Portland, thank you! More

In addition, it seems this dealer will be supporting the club - it shows the kind of customer appreciation that many businesses have abandoned in search of every possible cent in profits.
