Hello Mr. Shattan, I am sorry you feel that have been gouged. I personally check our prices to make certain that we remain competitive with other Mini Dealers in our region. Most Mini Dealers charge $99.95 for their Oil service, our Economy oil service is $69.95. Most dealers charge more on their tire margins, we charge $20.00 above our cost. Most dealers charge $199.95 for their "Four Wheel Alignments", we charge the same. most dealers charge $179.95 for their brake fluid service, we charge $159.95. The services performed on your vehicle were either completed as you had requested or as recommended by the Mini's schedule due to time or mileage. These are normal maintenance items that we do not gouge our customers on. Please compare our prices vs other Mini Dealers, I would be more than interested in reviewing your charges if you find that we are out of line in comparison. Dear Mr. Rubustello, The check engine light only came on immediately after your service. Thank you for offering to check the warning. It may be a coincidence, but given that we noticed it shortly after we left your service makes me believe it might be related. As for your price gouging, comparing yourself to other Mini dealers for oil change and tire alignment is disingenuous, unless of course Mini dealers have some proprietary oil change and wheel alignment skills that Midas, Town Fair or Valvoline have missed out on. If so, you should absolutely advertise why your oil change and tire rotation is worth paying 50-100% more. As for comparison, the latest from your neighbors at Town Fair Tire for a 4 wheel rotation is between $89-$109, depending on the services, compared to your $200.. https://townfairtire.com/information/wheel-alignment/wheel-alignment-specials-and-services/index.shtm Sadly, I'm still left believing that for anything besides Mini specific maintenance, like your run flat tires (which are priced fairly and was why we came back), your maintenance services are meaningfully over priced. I agreed to it at the time because the cost to me at that moment was not worth losing a few more hours of my time to have routine services done elsewhere. In hindsight, that was a mistake. MINI of Fairfield County responded

Hello Mr. Shattan, I have compared our oil service to the likes of the independent shops that you mentioned and I have found that due to cost many of those shops no longer perform oil change services including Town Fair in Norwalk. The Town Fair center in Branford charges $64.95 using an unknown oil and filter brand, we charged you $69.95. I have found any "like" oil change (Oil and filter only) purchased online without labor cost $70.88 plus shipping. I simply don't see how a $69.95 "Full Synthetic" oil service using Mini Parts and Trained Technicians could be considered gouging. The alignment should be compared to a "Like" service provider and not any independent that may not be using the correct Mini selected equipment which is updated by Mini to match their Specification on the adjustment to the four wheels of your suspension and processes to identify possible issues specific to your Mini Cooper S. There are many different levels of service at many different levels of cost, from our marketing research I believe that we are extremely competitive vs any "Like" Service Facility and given our Value Service line of Oil change services, brakes and tires we are also competitive with discount auto centers as well.
