I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Luther Rochester Volkswagen. I first went to the dealership on Saturday, September 5, 2026, and spent approximately two hours there trying to obtain a ne Rochester Volkswagen. I first went to the dealership on Saturday, September 5, 2026, and spent approximately two hours there trying to obtain a newer, safer vehicle. I returned on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, to finalize the deal and spent another 3 hours and 42 minutes at the dealership. Altogether, I spent nearly six hours dealing with this purchase. I traded in my 2011 Chevrolet HHR LT for a 2016 Ford Escape Titanium. During the process, my salesperson, Evan, told me three separate times that the vehicle would come with a full tank of gas. I was also told the vehicle would be fully detailed. Neither of those things happened. What made the experience even more frustrating was what happened after I had already been waiting for roughly three and a half hours on Tuesday. The finance employee, DJ, came over and told me that he didn’t even realize I was there waiting to have my paperwork completed and the deal finalized. I was told that Evan had simply dropped my folder containing my information on DJ’s desk, even though Evan knew DJ was the only finance person available and was already handling other customers. I understand that dealerships can get busy and that purchasing a vehicle takes time. However, there is a difference between a reasonable wait and sitting at a dealership for nearly four hours because the person responsible for completing your paperwork apparently wasn’t even aware you were waiting. The lack of communication, the excessive amount of time involved, and the promises about the full tank of gas and detailing that were not fulfilled left me feeling like my time and business were not valued. I’m leaving this review as a warning to anyone considering buying, selling, or trading a vehicle at Luther Rochester Volkswagen: be prepared for what could be a very long process, keep track of exactly what you are promised, and make sure everyone involved in your transaction actually knows you are there and waiting. After spending nearly six hours between two visits and purchasing a vehicle from this dealership, I expected a much better level of communication, organization, and follow-through. More
