The dealership is great but I sat in the waiting room for an extra hour with no update while the gal went to lunch. They knew I was waiting and she also knew the updates were going to my husbands phone. So I an extra hour with no update while the gal went to lunch. I recently brought my car to Luther/Park Place Motors to repair a sunroof leak. Before bringing it there, I had taken the car to another auto repair shop. They tried to diagnose the problem by cleaning out repair a sunroof leak. Before bringing it there, I had taken the car to another auto repair shop. They tried to diagnose the problem by cleaning out the drains, and after explaining what they found, where they found the water, and the work they completed, they recommended I take it elsewhere for further diagnosis and repair. Shortly after dropping the car off at Luther/Park Place Motors, I received a text asking where they had found the water. I pointed it out, but the location being referenced was incorrect. I then sent a copy of the repair order from the previous shop so there would be no confusion about what had already been done. I received another text telling me what my portion of the warranty repair would be, but it didn't explain the charges. I asked that the details be emailed to me. As is typical with many repairs, the parts were a relatively small portion of the cost, while the labor worked out to roughly $195 an hour. I would have appreciated a clear explanation of what I was being charged for rather than just being given a total. Communication throughout the process was also frustrating. At one point, I was asked when I could drop the car off, apparently forgetting that I had already left the car there. The follow-up "lol" didn't exactly inspire confidence. I understand that repairs can take a few days, and I was willing to wait. However, I specifically told them that I needed the car in the morning. I received no response until shortly after noon, when I was finally told that the car was ready. The final interaction was what really bothered me. When I arrived to pick up the car, instead of bringing the car around for me, I was escorted out to where it was parked. Maybe that seems like a small thing, but after the communication issues and everything else throughout the repair, it was just one more example of a lack of attention to the customer experience. Overall, I found the experience frustrating and disappointing. Unless I have another recall that requires me to go there, I won't be returning to Luther/Park Place Motors for repairs, and I won't be considering them when it's time to purchase another vehicle. The service was very efficient and effective. We were allowed to be driven to a local shopping mall while the car was being serviced and picked up again. Everything was great.
