About 3 or 4 months after I purchased a brand new 2018 Honda Accord 2.0L Sport all of the safety features (Lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, Brake assist) stopped working and gave out error messa Honda Accord 2.0L Sport all of the safety features (Lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, Brake assist) stopped working and gave out error messages telling me to take it in to see the dealer. When I did, they (of course) told me it wasn't covered under warranty. I shelled out a couple hundred bucks for them repair/realign/recalibrate the sensors. When I picked up the car I didn't even get halfway home before all of the error messages came back. When I called the Service department manager's number it went to voicemail, where I left a frustrated message about the situation. Never heard back from them. Took the car BACK in, was told how I should actually try to go through my auto insurance since a similar issue on a different Honda vehicle had just been covered in that way. Went through a whole ordeal coordinating that with insurance who ultimately told me it was not covered, that it appeared to be a poorly designed section on various Hondas, and that it should hopefully be covered under some sort of recall warranty. After driving for a year without the use of any of those safety systems (or cruise control at all!), I took it back to the dealership for an oil change and the service rep I dealt with that time was immediately confused by the situation but ended up finally repairing the sensors correctly at no cost to myself.
