I always have a good experience when I need their services. Only thing the last time my car was in the shop they had it for 2 weeks but did not give me any updates during that time. My wife and I recently had a vehicle problem several hundred miles from our home. I have an aversion to having work done on our vehicles by anyone that I haven’t established a working relationship with, hundred miles from our home. I have an aversion to having work done on our vehicles by anyone that I haven’t established a working relationship with, especially out of town. I’m probably not alone in this, as most people have heard the horror stories associated with having vehicle service/mechanical work done while on the road. The vehicle began making a loud, mechanical sound which immediately caused to me to somewhat panic. All sorts of scenarios occurred to me. Wheel bearing? Turbo? Transmission? What could this be? How much is this going to cost? Surely this can’t be driven, or at least not far! How am I going to get this vehicle home? Rent a vehicle? How and what needs to be done? My wife reached out to her friend Felecia Hartnell, whose husband Jeremy Hartnell works at Long-Lewis Ford in Muscle Shoals, AL. Jeremy immediately called us and told us to expect Mark, the Service Manager, to call, which he did immediately thereafter. He listened to my panicked, wildly-wrong guesses of possible problems, and finally got a decent description of what was really happening. He made a long-distance diagnosis, told me what to do to test the diagnosis, offered a temporary work-around, and then reassured me that the vehicle could indeed be driven home with no ill-effects. An appointment was made, and the problem was fixed. This is the short version. He spent a lot of time on the phone educating me. In the end, it was made into a very simple and straight-forward process. What made this any different or why do I feel compelled to write a review? Their immediate response, to what to us, was an emergency. Their ability to reassure and calm us was invaluable. The competence and professionalism of the Service Manager was impressive. He knows the systems of the products that he services. He can, in this case, diagnose a problem from afar…he has seen it before. At the end of the day, we felt we were in good hands.
