The process currently in use for Lithia's misleadingly named 'Express Lube' has not improved over many months, and shows no respect for their customer's ability to efficiently schedule the limited number named 'Express Lube' has not improved over many months, and shows no respect for their customer's ability to efficiently schedule the limited number of hours in their busy days. Know that when you add your name to the app you must download on your phone, and use on a given day in order to be seen for an oil change, that the minutes that come up do not represent an appointment! You have NO APPOINTMENT. You are simply on a list of people who are now authorized by Lithia to compete on a 'first come- first served' basis that day! If your name is not on that list, you will be refused service. I arrived 15 minutes early for what appeared to be an appointment, when at 7:35 in the morning the app reported 190 minutes. I rearranged my day based on what Lithia's app implies is an appointment. I waited 3 hours for the oil change, and had to cancel a favor I had offered a friend because I was still waiting for my vehicle. Management at Lithia should be embarrassed by what is currently going on in their Express Lube Service Center. I am taking even more precious time to deal with Lithia the-day-after because this is the THIRD oil change in a row that has gone down poorly, time-wise, at Lithia, which means that Lithia's management has had ample time to put in place a process that would work, but quite clearly has not. Getting an oil change at Lithia's 'Express Lube' should not be more difficult than getting that same service at other Express Lube Services in town, nor should it be more difficult than going for services in any other area of life. I should add that the people who work at Lithia, at the direct contact level, are also victim's of their manager's failure to implement a process that works. It sets them up to have to deal with a higher percentage of dissatisfied customers. My only suggestion to them was to give updates to those waiting. In three hours sitting in Lithia's waiting room, I was given no updates as to 'how much longer'? More

Three years ago, I left a great review about Lithia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT or South Anchorage and frequently recommended it to friends and coworkers after having purchased three new vehicles from Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT or South Anchorage and frequently recommended it to friends and coworkers after having purchased three new vehicles from them over the past few years. I've attempted to trade and buy two more vehicles since then and was met with disappointing management both times. The salesman were all great to work with, but management seems to have shifted into unreasonable and exploitive practices, leaving me surprised with the dishonest and offensive customer service experience compared to my past three deals. Unfortunately, those salesmen I had the pleasure of working with ended our interactions with apologies for the rude behaviors of their management. Meanwhile, sales staff at other dealerships told me about quitting this dealership due to similar issues with management taking complete advantage of customers and losing reasonable transactions. First off, I recognize that I'm not likely going to get the KBB/NADA trade-in value for a vehicle when I work on a car deal. That's just not how many dealerships work in Alaska. Secondly, I understand in the current COVID market, cars aren't typically being sold at discounts. I can respect that. However, this Lithia location has been completely unreasonable in what they'll offer for trade-ins; especially compared to some of the other dealerships in Anchorage. In addition, management has no problem blatantly lying to your face when you understand dealership sales tactics and try to call them out of their dishonest claims. In my previous two experiences with trying to trade-in my vehicle and purchase a new one with this Lithia location, the manager offered me a (mostly) reasonable deal with the understanding I'd return one or two days later to finalize numbers and purchase because my daughter was getting tired or hungry at the time. When I returned, a different manager working would not honor the deals. Instead, they suddenly lowered the value of my trade-in by about $2,500+ both times despite it not actually losing value on the market and nothing changing about the condition of my vehicle. This meant that my new trade-in value came in consistently about $6,000-$8,500 below fair trade value. This is not reasonable and should not be accepted. Other dealerships I've worked with in Anchorage will not try to cheat you that badly if you call it out properly for what it is. When confronted on this borderline bait and switch tactic in both instances, management tried claiming that they couldn't resell my vehicles for a profit at those trade values, they didn't understand how the previous manager got those values, and the market wouldn't bare those values. These are normal claims dealers will make, but they also aren't true. So, when shown that comparable vehicles (same brand, model, and trim) in the Anchorage market are being sold well above my requested and fair trade-in range, they became condescending towards me and dismissive. In my experience today, my partner walked away with our daughter because she was so surprised and frustrated with the manager's condescending attitude. In my experience before that, when I asked the manager to honor the deal the previous manager gave me two days prior, he told me "Well, I don't see that manager now." and "You're not going to be able to find a better deal than this." I was very happy to prove him wrong just by going across town to Anchorage Chrysler, where I not only got a better deal on the price of next model tier higher, but also got the same fair trade-in value I wanted. It looks like Lithia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat of South Anchorage will only do business with you if they can completely cheat you using unreasonable, and in my opinion, unethical car sales tactics. I'm genuinely sad to say that I can no longer recommend Lithia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT of South Anchorage. This location went from being my favorite dealership to an avoided dealership in just two years because of how management now operates and treats customers working towards mutually fair transactions. They started being unreasonable before COVID and clearly haven't fixed those shady practices. I hope this review helps prevent people from being taken complete advantage of beyond what should be typically expected from a car deal. In my experiences, if you have knowledge of car sales and dealership tactics, I suspect you'll be disregarded like I was because they can't completely swindle you. More
