Thank heavens for David Spafford. His non-pressured assistance at my recent service appointment was a refreshing change from my previous service appointment. At that time I had felt almost bullied int assistance at my recent service appointment was a refreshing change from my previous service appointment. At that time I had felt almost bullied into getting services I didn’t need. David explained and showed me how they could diagnose the need (or not) for the $800 “tear down” of my previously-declared “toxic” car because mice feces had been discovered in my cabin’s air filter.* And as it turned out, there was NO evidence that a tear down was indicated. In addition, the “ regional recommendations” (that Toyota.com themselves had no idea about) that were pushed and LENGTHILY DISCUSSED at my previous service (despite my saying I needed to get to another appointment) were not pushed by David either. Lia needs to retrain their service reps to assist customers as collaboratively and honestly as David does. I had almost resolved never to return to Lia again except for recalls, but David has changed my mind. *The statement that my car had “toxic” conditions was put into my Toyota history file—and will likely affect my resale and/or trade-in value!
