When working with Michelle, she was very quick and efficient. She was also very friendly. My husband and I also brought our children in and she was very good to them as well. My wife and I decided to buy a new Honda CRV-SE and submitted requests for Internet quotes from kbb.com to three dealers. It had been a long time since we bought a new car so I was expecting the stereotypical sales approach and to be pressured into buying a car. Our salesperson, Jessica Malatesta, simply asked what kind of car we were interested in and which colors we liked. My wife indicated she wanted a red CRV and shortly thereafter there was a red CRV in front of us waiting for our test drive. I was completely sold on the CRV after a short test drive but my wife was still a little hesitant, thinking that the CRV might be a little too big for her. I reminded her that we bought her a new CRV in 1999 and that she enjoyed driving it, and that the 2011 CRV offered the best combination of all-wheel drive, safety, reliability, resale value and economy, so she seemed to agree that we should buy the CRV. We told our salesperson that we liked the CRV and asked if they would come down on the price at all. Our salesperson's response was a simple polite and matter-of-fact "No". That was OK with me because the quote of $21,983 was at least a thousand dollars below what I was initially expecting to pay. Jessica (our sales person) then asked us if we would like to buy the CRV. At that point it occurred to me that buying a new car this way was not much different than buying a loaf of bread at a bakery - no sales pressure, no haggling about price, etc. I looked at my wife and said "what do you think?". My wife responded with "OK" but I could see that she was still a little hesitant so I told Jessica we wanted to think about it a little more. Jessica responded with a simple "OK" - again no sales pressure at all. We then left the dealership and headed back home thinking all the way that maybe we should turn around and go back and just buy the car. But Lia was not especially interested in our two 1994 Accords that we wanted to trade in (can't blame them for not wanting two 17 year old cars) so we decided to see if the dealer who had been servicing our two Accords might be interested - they were not. So to make a long story short, we went back to Lia and bought a CRV. They no longer had a red CRV in stock, so my wife had to use her negotiation skills with the sales manager at Lia to find her a red CRV, but after a couple of days she had her red CRV. Our overall sales experience was very pleasant although I was kicking myself the entire time for not buying the original red CRV when we had the chance. Kevin, the financial manager, was very pleasant and thorough in explaining our various options and again there was no sales pressure. My wife still hasn't driven her new CRV because she is still a little nervous about it being bigger than the Accord she was driving, but I'm sure that she will eventually give it a try and learn to love it. Meanwhile I am driving her back and forth to work. More
This was my sixth lease of a vehicle and the second time that I had the pleasure of dealing with Lia Honda of Albany. It also proved to be the my best experience of all! The sales personel was extremely knowlegable, very helpful in answering all of my questions and gave me the time, without any sales pressure, to make my decision without fear of intimidation. I was over the mileage on my current Honda and Lia's sales manager, Dominick, suggested a way that he could help me with that extra mileage without over inflating the monthly cost of my new vehicle. I also had three more months left on my current lease and if I kept driving my current Honda Pilot until my lease expired in February of 2011 I would have been well over my agreed to mileage and subject to a very high "mileage over" cost. After Dominick and I spoke and finally came to an agreeable monthly payment I called my wife to inform her that we would soon be rid of our current "over mileage" Pilot and would soon be driving a sporty new 2011 Honda Pilot, with 15,000 miles a year this time! Thanks Lia Honda for being there for me. I know that when my current lease is up I will not hesitate to return to Lia Honda of Albany for what I'm sure will be another enjoyable cay buying experience. More
Leighanne was very helpful finding me a used car and very pleasant to work with. The used car had some minor scratches on it which Lia's body shop buffed out for free. Phil Rasile was very helpful in trying to get me the best deal for my new car. I wasn't planning on shopping until next Spring, but when he went through the possibilities with me and helped me get what I wan deal for my new car. In the past I have found buying a car to be a stressful and negative experience.
