I just bought my third Lexus, the second one I have purchased from this dealer. Over the years I have found them to be above-board and fair (though you must realize they are in business to make a profi purchased from this dealer. Over the years I have found them to be above-board and fair (though you must realize they are in business to make a profit). I have never been high-pressured during a purchase. The customer lounge is very comfortable, with leather seating, flat screen TV, fresh brewed Starbucks coffee, and snacks. I was provided with a near-new Lexus to drive while they prepped my new car and whenever I had warranty work (they actually called me to tell me about a recall). More
I contacted this dealer because he has a car with a color I preferred. And he was a big liar all along. First, he claimed the color I chose charge $2K more, which is not true (this can be verified from an I preferred. And he was a big liar all along. First, he claimed the color I chose charge $2K more, which is not true (this can be verified from any website online such as lexus.com or edmunds.com). This is a common trick. So I wasn't annoyed. Next, he provided a price which is very close to 2007 invoice price. (btw, my email and phone converstation were very clear that I wanted an 07 model) Of course the phone conversation was never pleasant. He is very pushy. But I was patient with him since he was the only one with the color. He was very fast with the final OTD price. Apparently, other dealers can not do a price like that. So i was ready to buy. But before i do that, I asked for a detailed specification and price breakdown of the car, which i didn't get until I asked several times explicitly. Later, from the specification, I figured out it was a 06 model that he sent me while we have been talking about a 07 model since the very beginning. He gave me a wrong VIN number in the email as well. However, check this out, he remembered to change the year to 2007 in the report he sent me via email!!! When i asked explicitly for a correct VIN number, he said there was no point to do that. I told him I need it to verify it is an 07 model. He replied minutes later "the car has been sold". Just to prove myself is correct, I asked a coworker to call the dealership. Someone else picked up the phone and when we asked about 06 model without any detailed requirement, we were told there is one car with exactly the same features we were looking for, it was an 06. Dealers do have certain ways to play around. This is understandable. But they don't lie! People can avoid questions, but selling 06 as 07 is just a lie! As a matter of fact, I wouldn't mind a 06 model since it is cheaper and it doesn't make much difference considering I plan to keep the car for a long time. I just didn't think with the color and the features I want, there will be any 06 left. So I never looked into it. If this guy Richard Lynn had been honest since the beginning, I would take the car. But now, even if I have to order a car and wait for three more months, I will never ever work with Lexus Of Pleasanton (4345 Rosewood Drive) again. More
The dealership has not delivered the type of service as explained by the salesperson. The lady at the service department has mislead us in one of our appointment wasting our valuable weekend time. On explained by the salesperson. The lady at the service department has mislead us in one of our appointment wasting our valuable weekend time. On another occassion, the service person did not properly check all required items to check during one of our service visit. I would shop for another lexus dealership. This dealership does not live up to customer's expectation considering it is a luxury car dealer. I have seen a better service to a non luxury dealership. Avoid buying or getting service from this dealership. More
