We purchased a 2010 Lexus LX 570 from this dealership. My wife repeatedly asked the salesman if we could put it up on a lift and check the undercarriage for rust. The salesman repeatedly insisted they don’t sell vehicles with rust on them, and that it’s been back in the shop and checked out just fine. When we came to pick up the vehicle about five days later, I noticed that the emergency brake was not working, it would not engage properly. They took it back to the mechanics and took a couple of hours to fix it. He made up some excuse that maybe there was food stuck in it but after all the subsequent events transpired, I’m convinced it was rust. After we owned it about a week we checked underneath and noticed that there appeared to be a lot of surface rust and weren’t sure how bad it was. We took it to a third-party mechanic, who put it up on a lift for us so I could take a lot of photos, turned out there was a huge amount of rust that was destroying the undercarriage and frame of the vehicle. One spot of rust was so bad that the entire support brace for the transfer case was nearly rusted through, and a bolt was missing that holds the transfer case up under the vehicle. We had to confront the dealer and our sales person and luckily for us they agreed to buy the vehicle back. No questions asked. I even showed them the photos. For this dealership I would say buyer beware, don’t trust what they say when you buy a used vehicle from them. Have it checked out. They will tell you they checked it out, but I don’t know if they really did, and if they did and sold it to us anyway that’s even worse. If the transfer case brace had broken off while driving, the resulting accident could’ve been catastrophic. I was so unhappy with them and how they sold a vehicle to us like that, and put my wife and family in danger. Oh, and our salesman I’m pretty sure knew it was rusted, especially after taking the vehicle back to fix the emergency brake, but sold it to us anyway, just to make a commission. His name is Phillip - whatever you do don’t buy a car from him…ever. At least Lexus bought the vehicle back from us. More
This is my third Lexus purchased from this dealership since 1997 and I’ve appreciated the service, integrity and professionalism that the staff and management has shown over that period. The reputation, since 1997 and I’ve appreciated the service, integrity and professionalism that the staff and management has shown over that period. The reputation, quality and craftsmanship of the Lexus brand are the reasons I continue to invest in Lexus, but most importantly it’s the people behind each service and sales interaction that makes the difference- Thanks.
