Everyone was so nice and welcoming. It was a very easy experience, it’s usually a horrible experience buying a car but they made it enjoyable and I felt we were treated and welcoming. This is my second Subaru and the second time Seth was the salesman. I live 1 hour away and there are 3 dealerships that are closer. Superior service and an effortless transaction are the only reason for this salesman. I live 1 hour away and there are 3 dealerships that are closer. THE GOOD AND THE BAD . . . . . Of course purchasing a Subaru is the best decision in anyone's life, the cars and truck are nothing short of amazing to drive, however, Lester Glenn Subaru of Toms River, N Subaru is the best decision in anyone's life, the cars and truck are nothing short of amazing to drive, however, Lester Glenn Subaru of Toms River, N.J. is just like any other car dealership - they lie, charge enormous prices for the simpliest of repairs and do not honor their top of the line extended warrant plan. I purchased their "bumper to bumper" warranty plan and they wanted to charge me $285.00 to check why my air conditioning in my 2016 Subaru Impreza is blowing cool air, and takes a very long time to cool down the cabin. The $285.00 was for a diagnostic test (which Auto Zone performs for free with no purchase necessary)! All it is - is a less than 5 minute test to see if the computer has a code to tell the mechanic what is wrong with the vehicle. I was told if it was the compressor or a seal or even low freon I would be covered, but if a mouse eat through a wire I would not be covered. One would think that if I had a cute little mouse eat through a wire, the air conditioner would not work at all - seems like common sense to me. And if a mouse did eat through a wire - I have bumper to bumper warranty to make the repair! The other thing I would like to add is that I have been harassed this past year each time I had work done to my car. Calls and e-mails several times over a cabin air filter not being replaced because they wanted $80.00 for a less than 5 minute job and a $20.00 part. Afterward, I was even called by someone at the dealership asking me how my car was performing because I did not have the cabin filter changed and it could cause me to have an accident! I changed the cabin filter myself - happy to report, no accident! lol The other really good story I would like to share is about my tires. Of course they always want to rotate your tires with each oil change. I was in need of tires so I had purchase 4 brand new tires from them after which I was repeated called and e-mailed that I needed my tires rotated. Can someone tell me how you would rotate 4 new tires???? It took me several not so nice e-mails to have them stop harassing me about tire rotation. Advertising on all their vehicles for sale is misleading - you do not get free oil changes, you get 4 free oil changes only - just through it would help to share that information here for you. Any pre-certified vehicle they sell costs you and additional $1,000+ for the purchase of it, it is not part of the deal you are getting - you are buying it at your cost which is added in when you settle your sale and it does not cover bumper to bumper repairs; more information that is vital and useful to anyone looking into a vehicle at any dealership, not just a Subaru dealership. The bottom price they will sell any vehicle is the listed internet sale price - on the lot the vehicle reflects a higher price, but if you check the internet price it is a bit lower and they will meet that price if you push enough. Again, all dealerships practice this same selling strategy. No haggle policy. As far as staff and friendliness, this dealership is tops for that. They are all very friendly and professional and make you feel very welcome and at home there. I have not had any bad experience with the service department staff, my vehicle was always taken care of on time and in a timely manner - I never had to wait long periods of time and they do a great job at keeping you informed the entire time your vehicle is away from you in the repair shop. They have wonderful mechanics working at this dealership as well. You will also get a phone call back with any questions you have about your vehicle. So you see, you have the good with the bad - knowledge is power. Sometimes it just is really better to go and purchase from a private owner versus a dealership. If you like to be contacted a lot after each visit, this is the place for you - they will not disappoint! More
I had a lot of trepidation about car shopping in general, as it is known to be a time-consuming nightmare with unclear pricing and unstable inventory. But Lester Glenn, and Seth specifically, were a welcome as it is known to be a time-consuming nightmare with unclear pricing and unstable inventory. But Lester Glenn, and Seth specifically, were a welcome difference! Was it time-consuming? Yes; but it was *productive* time, where the time being used meant the process was moving forward, not wasted on calls to a financeer or haggling over small things. The pricing was great, the process was clearly explained at each step, and best of all to me, the dealership was READY TO GO at each step, no fumbling around for paperwork or calls I want to leave a specific shout-out to Seth, who was kind enough to set aside his time for me, and already had a handful of options ready to show when we arrived, cutting out the hemming and hawing so classic to dealers. When you deal with Seth, you get someone who's excited, who's personable, who isn't just trying to make a sale, and who advocates for you, which was a HUGE relief to me. If you can, and you need a car, Lester Glenn is where I'd recommend, and if you can, I'd ask to deal with Seth specifically. He's a joy and a wonder to behold. More
