I was looking for a new SUV for under $30,000 and I had test driven the Toyota Rav4, Subaru Forester, and Hyundai Tuson. It ended up in a toss up between the Honda CRV and the Toyota RAV4. The Toyota Deale test driven the Toyota Rav4, Subaru Forester, and Hyundai Tuson. It ended up in a toss up between the Honda CRV and the Toyota RAV4. The Toyota Dealerships were very difficult to deal with. One Dealership was quite rude to my wife and me. Another quoted "sticker" price. When I came in to test drive the Honda CRV, the Sales Consultant, Chris Schrammel, was very pleasent. He explained all the features and let us take the CRV for a real test drive. I liked the vehicle however was not quite sure if I wanted the CRV. Chris said "okay" and to let him know if I was still interested. NO PRESSURE AT ALL. I made my decision and came back a few days later only to find that the CRV I was going to buy was sold. Chris said no problem and found the model and features I wanted. Honda CRV, EX, Royal Blue with the grey cloth interior. Chris also quoted me a great price. I purchased the CRV on Wednesday, August 19, 2009. It was raining hard that evening, however Chris had the CRV detailed and waiting in the shop area for my wife and me. NICE, VERY NICE. I did get rid of my 15 mpg "cash for clunker" and now get 24.2 mpg in my Honda CRV. It just doesn't get any better! More
I went to get a car the last day for Cash for Clunkers, with no appointment. I was taken in right away. It was a long day, but mostly because they were fitting me in between scheduled customers, which I with no appointment. I was taken in right away. Of course, I was interested in a new car which the sales people hadn't had time to learn about fully. I bought the car that day. I found that it didn't have cruise control, which was important to me. I called the sales manager, and even with Cash for Clunkers, which made it more difficult, he was able to switch me into another car (two days after I purchased the first one) with the options that I wanted. Although it was a long process (mostly because I didn't make an appointment), the dealership accommodated me so that I was able to use the Cash for Clunkers Program, and to get me into the car that fit my needs. I purchased the new hybrid Insight and love it. With having to go back a couple of times, the sales people were still very pleasant to me. Thought they'd all run when they saw me coming. I went in the last Saturday of the Cash for Clunkers program. I did not have an appointment but they were more than happy to fit me in. Worked out deal over the phone and internet. Got a great deal on a new Honda Fit Sport as part of Cash for Clunkers program. Truly a pleasurable expereience. It was worth the 1 hr 15 min ride to the dealer in PA. I was swapping emails with Liz, the internet salesperson, on a specific car they had in stock. I was looking for a 15 min ride to the dealer in PA. I was swapping emails with Liz, the internet salesperson, on a specific car they had in stock. I was looking for a 2 door w/ manual trans. This was not easy to find. LV Honda had one. She was upfront from the beginning, specifically with fees. The main reason I was looking to buy the the CARS program. By the time I decided to get the car it had been sold and the CARS program had just been suspended. A few hours later the gov't temporarily extended and Liz called me to let me know about the small window of time I had. I rushed to the dealer and was introduced with Chris. Their pricing was good and their fees were only about $200, incredible. In NJ, the reg. fees alone are around $300-400. In 3 hours I drove home in my new car. The only bad side is beacuse they are too far from where I live, I cannot take advantage of the service coupons and specials the dealership has. Liz sent me the following email, which shows their integrity, honesty and professionalism: If a price appears too good to be true, it is. A lot of dealer's advertised prices or prices they give out over the internet have a catch. A lot of times there will only be one vehicle available at the advertised or provided price and chances are it will already be sold. In most cases the advertised price or the price provided over the internet will NOT include: - Destination fees are usually around $600 or more depending on the model - Carpeted floor mats - Dealer prep fees are some times as much as $500 In most cases, dealers will include the following in internet prices: - Recent College Graduate Rebates are usually around $400 or more (they assume you will qualify) - Rebate money in the place of special financing when you may not be eligible to receive one or both Unfortunately, consumers get sucked in by these misleading price quotes from other dealerships. That is the purpose of these low ball price quotes. Once you are at the store the deal changes resulting in a bad experience. The good news is at our dealerships we believe our customers do not want to be treated that way. We always do our best provide our customers with honest and professional price quotes and information. Our prices are some of the lowest you will find on the internet and the best part is that they are realistic. You will know exactly what you have to pay to own a new Honda vehicle. I hope that you find this information useful as you continue down the road towards making the right decision about the car you buy and the dealer you buy it from.
