I went into the dealer several times before the Genesis Coupe came out to get a brochure, ask when they would hit the lot, etc. First problem was that I left my name and number with one of the salesmen and Coupe came out to get a brochure, ask when they would hit the lot, etc. First problem was that I left my name and number with one of the salesmen and he said he'd call me as soon as they came off the truck. He never called me. Strike one, go to another salesman, Mateo. I drove there as soon as I found out they had some in. Just so happens, they have exactly what I'm looking for. I talked to Mateo and asked to schedule a test drive, to which he replied that I'd have to get a credit check first. Strike two, but I'll deal with it. Today was the day. I drove over there as excited as a kid on Christmas. I talked to Mateo, the second salesman, and agreed to do the check so I could test drive it.After I finished, He proceeded to take it in, and stayed in the office for a few minutes while I patiently waited for him to come back out. He came out with the keys and told me that they don't want to let a bunch of people test drive the car unless they are serious about buying it. He then said, "You are in a great position to buy right now with your credit and trade-in, you could drive away with it today". I said, ok. If you can match the Invoice +$500 +TTL, I'll sign right now, that $6000 mark-up you have over MSRP is ridiculous. No haggling, no nothing, he just said "that's not even close to where we are". I asked him if the Test-drive was off. Yep. After this, I called the Sales Manager, Rick. I asked him why I wasn't even dealt with after showing that I was intent on buying the car. He equated my offer to a $20k mark-up, and then hung up on me. Next step, go to the other Hyundai dealership in Albuquerque, Southwest Hyundai. Got my test drive, and was ready to buy. But Southwest is owned by the same people that own Larry H. Miller, and they stone-walled me with the dealer trade so I couldn't get my car. I finally ended up driving 10hrs to Dallas/Ft. Worth and got a better deal than the one I offered to Larry Miller and Southwest. It was worth every mile to get what I wanted for a fair price. UPDATE: The Service Dept. seems worth dealing with. I haven't had to use them much, but they've been quite helpful and knowledgeable when I did. They're separate from the sales dept. so can't necessarily fault them for being under the same roof. More
I researched used vehicles over the internet and located a vehicle at Larry H. Miller Hyundai which I had previously looked at on the lot. To my suprise, the vehicle was listed at a lower price on the internet. I applied for financing on the vehicle over the internet and received quick responses from the internet sales team. Purchasing the vehicle went smoothly and the emloyees that assisted me were friendly and helpful. Since buying the vehicle I have been contacted by internet sales so they could follow up on how the transaction went and they wanted to make sure that I was happy with the purchase. I would recommend Larry H. Miller Hyundai as a place to highly consider when looking for a new or used vehicle. More
