Yes, part of that responsibility is on me, but I was very overwhelmed, and that does not mean the dealership & salesman I dealt with have none! I stated I would rather sign paperwork Monday, but was pressured to close the deal that day. I have challenged credit because of a job lost about 1 year ago and am about to file bankruptcy. I went in being honest because they said on their show they work with almost everyone, blah, blah blah. Was told that this finance would help me with a bankruptcy by more than one person instead of being discouraged. I had no reason to lie about it, and I knew what my credit report was. I was told on the 1800# that I had a 1500.00 voucher towards a purchase (not a new or used purchase, just "a" purchase) awaiting me when I got there to look at cars because I was in the first 70 callers for the TV show that aired that day. I went in to look at a particular used car I found on their website and didn't even get there because I was told I would have better luck getting financing for a new car as opposed to a used one. The sticker was pulled off the car before I even test drove it and the price was upped by 500. Had I not found the sticker later in the glove box, I would not have known because I had been quoted the same place all along. The "voucher" never got applied nor did the internet incentive of $2000.00 (incentive listed on their own web page). The salesman acted like he hadn't a clue what I was talking about, and I kept telling him he was supposed to talk to the sales manager. He just kept asking if it didn't exist. I asked about both repeatedly. I did receive $1000.00 trade in and $1000.00 manufacture rebate but neither of the other. I was told my interest rate was a certain amount (higher than I thought it would be) but when I calculate it later, they must have lied to get the paper work signed. Looks like the interest is much higher than what was stated when I calculated it later. This is a very stressful and embarrassing time in my life and when someone says they can help you, as they do on their TV show, even with challenged credit, you walk in wanting to trust you won't be taken advantage of. I can't speak of the other salesman there, but I do not feel this salesman was honest and forthright. I felt as if he was working for his incentive and bonus for that day's sales rather than being proactive for a customer that is already overwhelmed. So, yes. Beware! More
