I was scheduled and able to drop off. Enjoy the convenience….. I live out of state and was shopping for a Ram 3500 Mega Cab. There were basically none to be found within a reasonable radius (500 miles) new, but I did locate a 2021 Ram 3500 Mega Cab that checked all the Cab. There were basically none to be found within a reasonable radius (500 miles) new, but I did locate a 2021 Ram 3500 Mega Cab that checked all the boxes for me. It had < 9000 miles, certified, and a clean car fax. I will say right up front that I’m a very picky person my expectation of this vehicle was that it be in like new condition. Prior to traveling to the dealership, I had the salesman do a walk around the vehicle via FaceTime. It was discovered that the vehicle had been driven through fresh highway paint as it was splattered all over the right side of the vehicle. The dealer claimed they didn’t know how to remove it. After some research on my end, I felt confident that I could clean it up myself. I proceeded to travel to Little Rock and purchased the vehicle after performing a thorough walk around and test drive. The vehicle had some wear and tear ( a little more than I would have expected given it’s a 2021 with < 9k miles), but it suited my needs overall. I drove the vehicle home and while driving I noticed that the passenger window was not factory. Upon further inspection in my garage, with proper lighting, I found that the passenger door and front fender have both been repaired. Needless to say, I’m very unhappy about this. The repairs pass a quick look, but don’t hold up if you’re looking closely at the vehicle. My eyes now go immediately to the door and fender. I’m frustrated because I made it very clear I expected it to be in like new condition and I paid a premium for it as well. The dealership staff was friendly enough and I was in and out in a timely fashion. I feel a little duped by the whole experience and also blame myself for not noticing this on my own inspection. From now on, I will no longer purchase a vehicle without inspecting it inside a shop vs out in the bright sun so defects are easier to spot. My local body shop has prepared an estimate to replace the parts with Ram OEM and refinish it, but at a cost of over 3k. Needless to say, I’m not too happy with Landers. More
