Bought a car and there was some front end concerns. I was reassured it's fine, but upon delivery, it wasn't. Now I have to pay put of pocket for repair, before my 1st car payment. When I told the Sales I was reassured it's fine, but upon delivery, it wasn't. Now I have to pay put of pocket for repair, before my 1st car payment. When I told the Saleswoman her response was "oh, I thought it drove good." More

I found a truck online that I wanted at LaFontaine Ford in Birch Run. I emailed to see if it was available because I live an hour and a half away. A representative from the dealership called me to set up a in Birch Run. I emailed to see if it was available because I live an hour and a half away. A representative from the dealership called me to set up an appointment. They confirmed that the truck was there and available and set my appointment for 4:30p.m.. I then received a text confirming my appointment and they gave me an address and the name of a salesperson that would have the truck waiting for me. I left work three hours early unpaid and drove 1.5 hours and arrived at 4:25p.m. only to find out that not only was the salesperson I was instructed to ask for not there but the truck was not there either. The truck was supposedly at another dealership, LaFontaine Dodge Jeep Chrysler in Fenton which was another 35 minutes South. I was livid and walked out. I decided to go the extra 35 minutes to see the truck only to be disappointed yet again. It had been sold and wasn't on the lot. What a massive waste of my time and money. Very unorganized and unprofessional. It must be nice to not do your job and still get a paycheck. Pathetic excuse for a business. More
Daniel Cheney was the best of the best, he helped me every step of the way, and being I live in Farmington Hills Mi. I did my shopping over the phone and on his company's website, let's just say there a every step of the way, and being I live in Farmington Hills Mi. I did my shopping over the phone and on his company's website, let's just say there are a lot of dealer's ships along the way, being I live 1hour and 19 minutes from this location but Dan gave me the experience on the phone that made me want to do my business at his location, he made it personal and custom to fit my needs, he got me the payment of range I wanted, no money down and gave me a very fair price for my trade in. he even had my new used vehicle delivered right to my door of my apartment, then drove my trade in back to his business, even the driver Dave was very friendly and courteous when he arrived, Dave even asked if I wanted him to remove his shoes when he came in my apartment due to the snow outside, no I told him no need, that was very nice to ask me, what a great team here. 2015 GMC TRERIAN SLE-2 for a used vehicle and not being able to drive it or look at it in person, Dan made sure it fit my level of comfort, the vehicle was clean, and everyone gave me the respect of a true kindness. thank you, Dan, Shawn, and Dave. Lying cheating service department headed up buy a service manager that’s a stone cold narcissist. Went in to have my pick up truck serviced which included tuneup transmission, service, and fuel system servic manager that’s a stone cold narcissist. Went in to have my pick up truck serviced which included tuneup transmission, service, and fuel system service. Picked up vehicle up a day and a half later. Didn’t really notice much of a difference, but wasn’t expecting to since I didn’t have any misfires or issues leading up to the tuneup. I was about 15,000 miles ahead of the scheduled service for the tuneup but since it was a 2004 with only 60,000 miles on it I felt it was time fast forward I had two months and I’ve developed a misfire. Called LaFontaine, and made another appointment to have the misfire dealt with. Day later, the vehicle was fixed and they said that I had a defective cracked spark plug and they replaced it and only charged me for the rental car. I bought another month and a half went by and I developed another misfire. I brought the vehicle back in to LaFontaine and a Day in a half later I got the vehicle back. About a mile into my drive home I realized the misfire was never fixed. I went back in the next day, talk to the service writer, and the service manager, with severe narcissism, overheard the conversation and stepped in. From his chair and his office he was able to decide that I didn’t have a misfire, but I had a bad torque converter. He then goes on a rage about how he has 30 years experience with Ford motor I know what he was talking about. The conversation ended up with me having a third appointment the following Wednesday at this point it was Friday. I didn’t wanna take a chance driving the vehicle because it’s the only vehicle I own over the weekend with a misfire so after the narcissist service manager told me I needed a tour converter. I decided to go to the best transmission shop in the area and that is Phils transmission. I was lucky and they were able to check out my vehicle. Applied the computer to my vehicle and we went out to go on a test ride. 10 seconds into the test ride, the mechanic told me I don’t have any problems or issues with my transmission but on the computer he showed me that the number three cylinder had a misfire to the tune of 38 total misfires in three minutes. They made me a copy of the report and I went back to the dealership. Narcissist service manager sees me again and I tell him that I just want to the transmission shop and they told me there’s nothing wrong with my transmission but my number three cylinder has a misfire. The narcissist service manager, John McLaughlin, then went in a rage because I took the vehicle to somebody else to look at it, but what am I supposed to do? After three comebacks for a tuneup and they couldn’t solve the problem I kind of figured it was over their head. Couldn’t get an appointment till the following week and I didn’t want to drive the truck with a misfire over the weekend so I went to the good people had better break and muffler in Birch run exploding my situation to them and ask them if they could remove and replace the number three spark plug in my vehicle. The mechanic agreed to do it for me and pulled it in the shop. About 10 or 15 minutes later, he comes back out with the spark plug in hand and shows me that it’s a spark plug that was original to the vehicle and was never changed that LaFontaine Ford and I’ve paid them. Now I’m really mad because it’s clearly evident they are purposely sabotaging my vehicle by not doing the schedule maintenance that I paid for. I went back to LaFontaine Ford and showed The narcissist service manager the spark plug and he responded by saying how do I know that spark plug came out of your truck? I told him it’s pretty simple because in 2007 Ford motor corporation was having bad problems with those spark plugs and redesign the spark plug. I didn’t have the updated spark plugs except the 2 they changed. Now that the narcissist service manager can clearly see that he’s caught in a lie. He proceeds to tell me that I am no longer welcome at LaFontaine Ford. Like I would really want to come back to LaFontaine Ford after being ripped off to the tune of close to $1500. After discussing with the general manager Jon Baur what happened and now had all the spark plugs removed and showed them to him. John Bauer asked me if he could have a day to be able to speak with the manager and the mechanic about the situation and I said no problem. The next day, John Bauer called me back, and said that he talked to the mechanic whose name was Steve Cozart, and he also spoke with a narcissist, and they both claimed that the service was performed. If that’s the case, why did I still have the original spark plugs in my 2004 F150? After they turned it up in August did I go to a junkyard did I don’t remember and found a 2004 F150 that still had original spark plugs in them and removed them and then came back and took all the new plugs out and replaced them with the junk yard plugs? Anyway, John Bauer called me the next day and informed me that they had a check for me for $1096. I asked him where the money was for the rental cars because I would’ve never needed the rental car and they done the tuneup to begin with the first time I came there so why are they not refunding me that money for the rental? John responded to me that’s just the way they’re gonna do it. Hopefully if you bought a new vehicle and it’s under warranty, you should be good to go because Ford motor corporation is footing the bill for the warranty work so I’m sure they keep an eye on the cheats. I would not go back to LaFontaine Ford offer to do the service free. Ty Tom Bartley More
My name is Joey Jiahao Gu. I bought a used 2013 Subaru legacy 2.5i from this dealership on August 22nd. I paid 7000$ cash. I trusted them so so much at that time that I didn’t I bought a used 2013 Subaru legacy 2.5i from this dealership on August 22nd. I paid 7000$ cash. I trusted them so so much at that time that I didn’t even doubt this car could have any problems. Based on all the positive comments and reputations. But now I am so so regretful. Because I recently took this car to do a full service and full inspection, they told me I need a new engine and transmission. This car is a piece of metal junk right now. I asked the guy who sold me the car and he said this car has no problem before I purchased it. So when we buy a used car, we all know there will be some problems, but as long as the engine and transmission are fine then it’s fine. I just graduated from college and I worked in the subway for a year just to have enough money to afford my first car. The car I love, the car that can shelter me and take me home and work. I almost cried when I thought about all my hard work was for nothing but a broken heart. I have debt and rent to pay. There’s no way that I can afford another vehicle. I can’t even make it home on Thanksgiving. I sent this to their official email address yesterday, but I haven’t received anything yet. I also sent this situation to the salesperson, and he asked me how I want it to be handled and that he will try to help me. I didn’t call them today, because I know they are with their family. I will keep updating you about how they handle this situation and I hope my experience will help you decide if you should buy a car from this dealership, whether it’s a new car or a used car. No one wants to do business with dishonest and irresponsible dealers. Update regarding their service. The answer is nope, still unsolved :( They have been trying to convince me to trade in for another used vehicle, asking me how much can i pay, and what's my credit Bla bla bla. But I am not that stupid. I'm not risking any more money on this dealer unless they give me an explanation or a guarantee. So it seems like this is the only solution they can offer. I don't know what to say about it. it feels like I'm begging for it. I don't know how and why I don't have any options but signing is a contract. why would people still want to buy used vehicles from this dealer? it costs more but has terrible quality and service. They don't care about a broke-xxx person like me. They would rather provide better service to whos buying brand new f150. Then why TF didn't tell me this car needs repair before selling and selling this 2013 Subaru with 190000 miles used car at 6000 dollars? I was being too naive. I seriously doubt they were hiding the car's condition from me. If you are looking for a used vehicle. I'll suggest you buy it from a local used market because they care about their used car business. This dealer is too busy making big money in the new car business. this is such an expensive lesson for me. Please take my advice and think twice before you buy. Because I don't want to see your car break down in just 3 months!!! More
