Koeppel Subaru was the first dealership I visited after deciding to test drive the new Forester. Nino was my sales guy and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. He was polite and did not pressure me with the usual salesman dialogue. We couldn't agree on a price after I test drove the Forester but we left on good terms. I decided to visit other dealerships in the NYC area but I soon realized that I should have stayed with Nino. The other dealerships weren't as receptive to my needs and I just felt a poor vibe. After a few days, Nino called me to follow up and I decided to revisit his dealership. We settled on a great price and left with my new Forester on the same day! Nino made my first car purchase as painless as possible. I hope he remains at Subaru because I will definitely recommend him to my friends and family. More
After a bad experience with Bay Ridge Subaru, I did a search and found Koeppel Subaru. Tried to call to make appointment at 1:30PM to test drive the Forester XT at 3:30PM. Went to voice mail. I hung u search and found Koeppel Subaru. Tried to call to make appointment at 1:30PM to test drive the Forester XT at 3:30PM. Went to voice mail. I hung up, and started an Internet Chat, I asked if they have the car for test drive. Teh sales checked the inventory and said they have one for test drive and I can go at 3:30PM. So I had my friend drove me to the dealer I told the sales that I made an appointment to test the Forester XT. He said it was sold this morning, but I said the Internet sales told me I can come to test drive the car. All he said sorry she didn't know the car was sold. At that point I was already pissed. Then I asked can I test the Outback V6, He said he have it ,but I cannot test drive it, but you can test drive the regular forester. This is just to say how unprofessional they are. I am very interested getting the Forester XP, but the bad experience with Koeppel Subaru and Bay Ridge Subaru make me to think about their customer service. More
I worked primarily with Sergey Nikolenko but also with Jimmy Bozza, the sales manager and Maureen Heffernan, the business manager. All were very easy to work with and made buying my new Impreza absolutely tension-free. Indeed, I had called before arriving at the dealership indicating that I was interested in the hatchback and when I arrived Sergey had the model and color I wanted in the showroom. I bought it. All were as accomodating as could be and saw to it that the purchase of the car was easy. Sergey did all he could to put me at ease, and to explain every detail about the car. He drove me to the bank so I could deal with the payment of the car, he and Jimmy took my 14 year old trade-in off my hands and even gave me the dollar value of its worth; indeed they all did everything they could to just make the purchase easy and fast. The group was as friendly as you could want. I love driving the Impreza. I live in Manhattan and Koeppel Subaru is in Long Island City--but it is a quick drive from mid-Manhattan. I would recommend Koeppel Subaru to anyone interested in buying a new car. I have had no experience yet with the service department but if, as I assume, it is anything like the dealership itself I will be absolutely delighted. If you want to buy a terrific automobile at an engaging and welcoming dealership with really nice sales people this is the place to go. Peter S. More

Nino walked us through all the benefits of the Forester Touring .and let us test drive it with him. We were only interested in the sage green color and could not wait to special order. Nino's general manager searched two times to find the car in the area and did. We picked the car up today and love it. We were concerned about changing from an MDX to the Forester but have to say it is more comfortable by far. The ride and responsiveness is far better. Maureen Heffernan, the business manager, was very friendly, informative and clearly fully on top everything, She really helped us to understand and pick all the warranties and services we needed and it was fun. We began the car-shopping process with a general idea of what we wanted, but not any certainty. One of the first people we met during a day on Northern Boulevard hopping from dealership to dealership, was what we wanted, but not any certainty. After test-driving multiple other makes and models over the course of the next three weeks, we came back to Subaru and Nino's expertise in our minds again and again. Nino patiently took our phone calls and could not have been more informative, available or thoughtful about the advice he provided us while we educated ourselves about the car we wanted to purchase. He and Jimmy Bozza negotiated with us in good faith to reach a pricepoint that we were comfortable with and Maureen Heffernan, the dealership's business manager, took her time to clearly explain our contract, ensure that we were not leaving any questions unanswered, and expertly helped us cross all T's and dot all I's before we left the lot. After other dealerships and sales teams left us feeling confused, pressured and annoyed, the group at Koeppel Subaru were true professionals who we could not recommend highly enough. More
On Feb. 9th 2012, we bought our new 2012 Subaru Outback 3.6 Limited. I couldn't be happier with our decision on buying a Subaru. Financing was handled very professionally by their Business Manager, Maureen Heffernan. All our options were addressed completely. Nino was an amazing help. He worked with me on the price and I did not feel rushed or pressured into the purchase. He helped with my lease return for a different car company, got me pretty much everything I and I did not feel rushed or pressured into the purchase. After searching for a variety of compact hatchbacks and having experienced some frustrating encounters with various NYC dealerships, I unexpectedly had a very positive experience at the LIC Subaru dealersh having experienced some frustrating encounters with various NYC dealerships, I unexpectedly had a very positive experience at the LIC Subaru dealership. My initial inquiry was generated via email, which was responded to within an hour by Nino Tirburzi at the dealership. We worked out some preliminary numbers via email to see if the car(s) were within my price range - which was followed up with an appointment that evening. Nino was prepared with price and specifications information and had a car ready for a test drive (unlike 3 other dealerships I went to where they *promised* these things and failed to deliver - pulling the old foot in the door technique). Although I went in there with a little bit of an attitude since I was so fed up with the car buying experience, Nino was patient, wasn't pushy and helped me find a car that matched my price and requirements. He also outlined the financials of leasing vs buying – which I was conflicted about. My only frustration was that the car was delivered after the expected date. In all fairness, it was only 3 days outside the window, and the dealership was misinformed from the shipping company. I was anxious to have the car, which added to the frustration. In hindsight, it wasn’t a big deal. When I picked up the car, Nino provided a full walk through of the car and highlighted some of the features (even set up my Bluetooth for me). 5 weeks later, I’m happy with the car (impreza hatchback) and experience. Nino has followed up with me twice to check on my satisfaction and inquire if there were any issues he could help with. I’m pleased to say I have had zero issues or complaints. I’m hopeful for positive experiences moving forward. More
