We were looking to buy a Sentra and visited without thinking we would buy the same day. We actually found one we liked. We took a few moments to get to a verbal agreement with Irwin to buy it at MSRP. We chose not to buy it due to work travel the next day. 11 days later, we returned with an appointment to purchase the exact same Sentra that remained unsold. We restated the deal for MSRP, but it was immediately clear that Matt would not honor the agreement. The first quote from Matt was for 3888 over MSRP. The second was for 2000 over. Matt finally came over in person for the second quote. When he said it was the best he could do and slid the quote to me, I started to shake my head no. Matt says "you can shake your head no all you want to." Then he says that he cannot sell at MSRP because he won't have enough cars on the lot next week, which seems very odd to say. Matt was rude and insulting. As a current Nissan owner, and someone moving to the Windward side this month, his approach and short term view of a price will likely keep me from being a customer and recommending King Windward Nissan. We are additionally bitter that this dealer and most others choose to mark up a 25000 car nearly 4000 in a time that is a pandemic yet so many businesses are reporting record profits. I am fairly certain that Matt, and others who price gauge customers, would not feel positively about being treated the same way that we were treated today. And yet, every day Matt likely tries to overprice customers and be rude to those who question his behaviors. I'd like to hope he has trouble sleeping . . . More
