Purchased a 2023 Jeep Renegade from Kai of Port Charlotte for a fair price in February 2025. After signing the sales agreement I received only one key fob from the salesman that was missing the emergency key for a fair price in February 2025. After signing the sales agreement I received only one key fob from the salesman that was missing the emergency key. I asked the salesman to provide a second key fob and the missing emergency key and he agreed to make it right. The only follow up I received was a text from a locksmith saying I’d have to go to a jeep dealership. After I asked the salesman what the dealership would do to resolve the issue they ghosted me and I never heard back from them. I’ll now need to spend an extra $500 to obtain the second key fob from a jeep dealership. I’ll never deal with Kai of Port Charlotte again and I’d be very careful Before signing the sales agreement. My husband and I leased a 2024 Kia Sorento earlier this year and had a wonderful experience here. My husband passed away unexpectedly 2 weeks before Christmas. I am now a one income household and am tryin year and had a wonderful experience here. My husband passed away unexpectedly 2 weeks before Christmas. I am now a one income household and am trying to figure out how I will be able to pay bills. I cannot afford this leased vehicle so I need to get rid of it. The finance company is not willing to do anything to help, so I went to the dealer to see if they would buyout my lease. They offered me $5500 less than I owe and I could hand the vehicle over to them. I don’t have $5500 sitting around, so I asked if they could do any better than that due to the circumstances. They were not willing to budge on the offer. In fact, it kept being brought to my attention how they were “overpaying” me. So here are my options: 1. Pay the $5500 to get out of my lease - which I don’t have. I will be getting bills for hundreds of thousands of dollars for my husband being hospitalized for over a month and being on 2 forms of life support for weeks. 2. Get a loan for the $5500 difference - which I can’t afford. 3. Not make payments, have the vehicle repossessed, and have my credit affected “short term” (it wouldn’t affect my credit forever - per Damian). I have perfect credit and I am in banking, so I know how this would affect my credit. There goes my chance of refinancing the house I live in so that I can afford to keep my home. 4. Look at trading in both vehicles I have and get a new car from them. Why would I ever want to do business with them again when they are trying to screw me over? When I told Damian that I would not be doing business with them again because of this situation, he stood up, said “Okay, thank you” and walked away. So much for professionalism. How about showing a little compassion? My husband was 47 when he died, and I am a widow at 45 now. It seems like a business who says they can be “trusted” would do the right thing. Buyout the lease in full, with a very small loss to their business, and make this difficult time a little easier on me. Instead they are too worried about making a profit. There was no compassion for my situation - it was all about how they would benefit. It’s unfortunate that this business is more worried about making a buck off of a widow rather than doing the right thing. I will be reaching out to local news stations next. More
Bought a Kia Sorento in August. Paid cash for the car. When I went to get the title they had put Kia as a lean holder on the title. When I brought this to their attention they said Paid cash for the car. When I went to get the title they had put Kia as a lean holder on the title. When I brought this to their attention they said that they would take care of it and apologized for their mistake. 3 weeks later they still have not taken care of their mistake. Absolutely no follow-through on their part. Use caution with dealing with this dealership. More
