Slimiest and most deliberately dishonest dealership I have dealt with in many years. Complete waste of time and effort. Despite very clearly agreeing on price and terms, Fred Perlmutter and others attemp have dealt with in many years. Complete waste of time and effort. Despite very clearly agreeing on price and terms, Fred Perlmutter and others attempted to add extra unauthorized charges at the final closing. Their pitiful attempt was shameless and transparent. Attempting to charge extra for the CPO powertrain warranty and adding in fees they agreed to remove is simply fraud I believe. This joint needs investigation for its unethical business practices. Buyer beware ... My mother needed to upgrade her current Kia lease and I figured that another Kia would be the easiest and most cost effective transaction. They located a vehicle of interest and at time of Kia lease and I figured that another Kia would be the easiest and most cost effective transaction. They located a vehicle of interest and at time of delivery I questioned a $398 fee that was being charged for accessories. The sales manager told me that $249 was for something called Zurich Shield, otherwise known as “snake oil”. It was never mentioned during the sales process. I said ok, what’s the other $149? He had to think about it and then said it was for floor mats. We were already paying $135 for the optional carpeted floor mats that were ordered with the vehicle and listed on the window sticker. Keep in mind that they have not once discussed the selling price of the vehicle. After waiting for the business manager to process the credit application we go into his office to finalize the transaction. Once again, the selling price is not discussed. When I questioned it with the business manager, he told me it’s the price that we agreed to. How did I agree to it if it was never brought up? He offers us some protection products and we purchased the excess wear. It only displayed what the corresponding monthly payment increased to and not the sale price of the product. He only showed it because I asked what the price was. He then proceeded to tell me he would sell it to us @ cost because we are first time customers. I find it very hard to believe he sold it at cost. Is Kia Delray a non for profit business? We get towards the end and I asked about the lease contract. He tells me that he will print it and bring it back with our C.O.D. receipt. He comes back with the lease agreement folded up in an envelope and hands it to us. He did not review or offer to review the agreement. Upon my own review, the selling price of the vehicle was approximately $1300 over MSRP. I’m not sure of the laws in Florida, but there was not any disclosure whatsoever in regards to the price/pricing of the vehicle.
