My 2000 Chevy Cavalier was on it's last legs and I had looked at several replacement cars and the 2011 Kia Sportage really caught my eye. I won't mention names but the salesperson that I worked with took my email address and phone number, information on my trade in, and said that he would let me know what they got in and also would get back to me with some quotes. I did a lot of research through Edmunds and Truecar and had an idea what a great price for that vehicle would be. I also wanted the convenience package with the spoiler and a trailer hitch. I submitted a request through pricequotes.com and my request was sent to Stokes Kia, as well as Kia Country. I was immediately contacted by Courtney Lydecker, the internet sales manager at Kia Country and Stokes Kia's internet salesperson. They both asked for details of what exactly I was looking for and I sent both details of what I wanted and what I had to trade in. The internet sales person from Stokes Kia responded saying that he would get back to me with a quote within their 4 hour business quote commitment. That was 5 days ago and I still haven't heard back from him. So much for the 4 hour business quote commitment. Courtney, on the other hand, responded within 30 minutes with 4 different Sportages. The one that really interested me was a black Sportage that had the convenience package as well as the navigation/premium audio package. And the price quote was lower than what was considered a great price on Edmunds and True Car. I asked if they could throw in a trailer hitch for free and she responded promptly that they absolutely could do that. I decided to give Stokes Kia another shot to see if they could go even lower on the price. I spoke to a sales manager and gave him the price I was given from Kia Country and he said he would call me back and see what they could do to salvage the deal. Within an hour, he called back and said, I'm not going to beat around the bush. We can't touch that price with those packages installed. If they made an offer at that price, maybe you should buy the vehicle from them. That's all I needed to hear. I contacted Courtney and place a partial down payment over the phone because I couldn't pick it up until the next evening. She informed me that Elijah Tucker would be helping me once I got to the dealership. I drove my Cavalier to the dealership on Thursday evening and was greeted warmly by Elijah. I really felt like I had no leverage on receiving a fair price on my trade in since I had already agreed to purchase the vehicle, but after a bit of going back and forth they offered what I considered a more than fair price for my trade in. The banks had closed at that point, but my wife and I went ahead and filled out the paperwork for a reasonably low APR and they were confident they would be able to secure that APR with our score and income. Elijah then handed me the keys, got into the vehicle with my wife and I and politely walked us through all of the features of the Sportage. He even programmed my wife's phone to work through the bluetooth of the car's audio system. The next day, we were contacted by Kia Country saying that the paperwork had gone through and that my trailer hitch had also come in. The entire process was the easiest, promptest, most professional, and courteous car buying experience I've ever encountered. If you're serious about buying a Kia in the Charleston area, go by Kia Country and ask for Elijah. Don't waste your time with Stokes Kia! More
Due to physical reasons i had to turn in my 5 speed car, went on line to look up small to med size cars. Jeff and his team work hard to try helping me..The good news, all work out well for me drove off the lot that nite with beauitful Soul plus.I work in the customer service world also, let me tell you being the customer ( not the agent) having awseome team player helping out a customer was " Right On" ... Best car sales experience of my life. I had a 2011 Best car sales experience of my life. I had a 2011 Murano I had to get out of... I contacted Kia Country as they were the only dealership withing 500 miles that had this very limited orange sportage with orange package. The sales team knew that the trade would be the hard part and immediately cut to well below invoice pricing. Then they worked up a number for my trade which was 1000 more than anyone local was willing to give. I decided to go for it and make the drive from Orlando to Charleston. They put me up in a hotel for the night...and once I got there the transaction was the quickest and most painless experience ever. The dealership tried to get me every rebate possible on top of the great deal and for some reason Kia corporate had a competitive rebate but did not match the murano against the sportage. I put in a separate request to Kia motors...and by the time I got back from Charleston...the kia country team contacted me telling me that the rebate was approved. So a couple of weeks later...another $500 was there for me. I would buy another car in a second from the kia country team. They are the best folks who truly understand your needs...and true southern hospitality. My only regret...that these people and this dealership are not closer to Orlando so I could bring all of my service business to this very honest group. More
Everything was wonderful from the Sale to the Closing and everyone was really friendly. When no car was available they found one that matched my needs and the manager matched my price. Everyone was more than helpful to ensure I got the car I wanted and was satisfied with the cash deal. One comment, we signed the paperwork on the 15th with delivery on the 18th to ensure my money was in place before cashing the check. When I picked up the car on the 18th all of the paperwork was dated the 18th so it looked like it was delivered on the 15th. I asked them to ensure my delivery was dated on my paperwork as the 18th so that the warrenty was correctly dated upon delivery date which they did. ALL I ALL LOVE THE CAR. More
