He listens to h The best thing about this dealership is Elijah Tucker - if my rating were based solely on him, it would have been a solid 5 out of 5! He listens to his customers, points out options without strong arming an upsale and is just generally pleasant to deal with! I did LOTS of homework before my recent purchase and felt like he respected that. If you go, ask for Elijah!! Like another customer, I was surprised by the high interest and long loan offered by KIA - no shorter terms or lower interest rates were offered, despite my having stellar credit (score > 800). If I didn't already have the option to move the loan to another lender, I would likely have walked away from the deal. This is where they make the additional money, if you work out what you feel is a fair deal - the manager is in charge of financing and will offer long term loans with higher interest rates than you can get elsewhere. Do you homework before going!! The most tiring part of the process is once you finally make it to the final paperwork. I was handed off to Frank, who is really nice, but he tried ... and tried... and tried to sell me an extended warranty that I didn't want. I realize he is just doing his job, but by that point, most folks are tired and just ready to be done! Long story short, it took almost three hours to complete the process, so plan to spend a chunk of time there when you go!! Lastly, be sure to find out about any available rebates before you do your negotiation! I worked out what I felt like was a pretty fair deal - I was asking for what I felt was fair for my trade in and they came down below what I was originally told would be the drive out price. Felt fair until I noticed that the paperwork was written up as my having paid $1,000 more for the car and that I was using a $1,000 rebate. WAIT - what rebate!? I hadn't been told there was rebate, much less that I was using one!! Had I known that, I probably would have offered $1,000 less on the front end. But I'm sure they know that - so don't sit there and wait for them to OFFER any rebates - ASK about them! More

When the brakes died on my husband's 20 year old Honda, he decided the time had come to replace it. Did some research on dependable smaller cars that would give him good mileage for all the local driving he does, and kept coming up with the Kia Forte. Took a look online at their used inventory, and then went in today. We were met by Steven Mellish, who introduced himself and asked how he could help us. We told him our situation, then he gave us quite a bit of information on the Forte. We also mentioned the Rio, but when we saw the two side by side, it was clear that the Rio would not offer us the trunk space needed and was just a little too basic. After test driving the 2017 Forte, we were both very pleased with it. It's a Certified Pre Owned, which gives us more peace of mind as well. After a little negotiation, we arrived at a satisfactory arrangement and drove home with the new Forte. Handles well, is a good fit for us shorter drivers, and we expect many years of service from it. Steve Mellish is professional, funny, and caring about his clients. We continue to have great experiences at Kia Country Charleston! We heartily recommend visiting them whether you are on the lookout for a new or a used vehicle. Go for the Certified Pre-Owned for that extra layer of reliability on the used cars, it's worth it! More

He went that extra mile to help me with this complicated transaction, even coming in on his day off. Any problems or questions I had he did his best to explain and solve them. As far as the dealership, it was good in many ways, but... the manager was in charge of getting me financing. Note that I had learned that I have excellent credit (806 on Experian) which puts me in the top 5% of the country. I was surprised, therefore, when he came back with the interest rate of 5.6% and a monthly payment of $209 - high for my fixed income, for 75 months. I met with my "financial advisor" that night and he said that I should be closer to 4.4% and for a shorter period of time. I called Lance the next day, explained my concern and he said that he would speak with his manager rather than have me speak with him. In less than an hour later Lance phoned back and said that he got me 4.4% for 72 months. I thought that's more like it. Two other surprises is that after being there for some two plus hours (plan on spending that amount of time and bring something to read) Lance turned me over to Frank who tried to sell me a variety of maintenance packages (most of which were covered by my own insurance company). By that time I was out of patience. Lance came out to my car to smooth my feathers. The other surprise had been that in addition to sales tax (I thought it would be about $200) which was $500, tax, title and registration which they would bring to DMV there was a closing fee of some $400 for a whopping $1023. And then expect to have to pay property tax in four months. I tell you all this so you can be prepared. Eileen R Smith More
