I've always received excellent service here. They always try to get everything done that is needed in one visit if possible. I appreciate them doing a complete inspection to let me know what else I need to try to get everything done that is needed in one visit if possible. I am switching to Keyes for my service needs because they are open on Saturdays for service and because they are much closer to me. They handled a recall for my Chevy Volt flawlessly as well as I can tell. are open on Saturdays for service and because they are much closer to me. I purchased a luxury GM certified Chevy vehicle at Keyes Chevrolet (Van Nuys, CA) in early 2021 and I had a very disturbing experience. I visited the dealership around noon to check out a car I saw on th Chevrolet (Van Nuys, CA) in early 2021 and I had a very disturbing experience. I visited the dealership around noon to check out a car I saw on their lot and no intention of buying one that day. However, through the high-pressure sales tactics and emphasizing on the point that this was a certified vehicle I signed the paperwork and bought the vehicle putting a lot of trust in the dealership and their certification. Later on I learned that it's only the dealership who "certifies" the vehicle and it's only as trustworthy as the dealership and GM has nothing to do with it and this is where it all went down. Two major issues I experienced: 1. Looking at the certification paperwork I found a section talking about the tires. It reads that it does not meet the minimum requirement (GM standard) for the certification and it is written down that the dealership has declined to replace the tire yet they sold the vehicle as a GM certified. Later on, I measured the tire threads on my own time and sure enough, they're way past the minimum thread level (the indicated minimum is 5/32 and I measured less than 2/32) and need to be replaced. These are performance tires and cost close to $1k a pair. 2. The certification inspection list for GM certified vehicles mentions and instructs for any major exterior damage to be fixed and the inspection list showed that the car is free of any damages as you'd expect. However, later on, I found two screw-holes on the bumper of the car , on the main painted body of the car, that I had missed and giving the dealership the benefit of the doubt they have also missed. I contacted the service department and talked with Alejandro (Alex) to confirm that such damage would be fixed as part of the certification process and proceeded to contact the sales manager. Glossing over how long it took to take hold of them after the sale has been made, I requested that the dealership fix what should have been fixed in the first place before they certified the vehicle. They mentioned they'll have to check with x and y, and the salesman and that was the last time I heard of them. Some other interactions worth mentioning: - The salesman told me that I could take the car home without providing the full down payment that day since the banks were closed if I sign now. but after I signed they did not let me. - This one is minor but as part of "selling the car", they kept saying let's put a full tank of gas in your car and send you your way but when it came to it they barely filled it halfway. This does not cost the dealership much especially when selling a $50k+ vehicle but it's a bad sign nonetheless. Either they forgot their promise or worse.. If they'd go back on their word to save $30 it makes you think about the bigger items. I know some of this is probably on me for not doing my due diligence fully but that's no excuse for violating customer's trust and questionable business practices. I was sold on the on the peace of mind that the vehicle is certified, the accompanying inspection list, and the trust I thought I could have in the dealership's goodwill. Needless to say that that trust has been violated. I write this only to warn you to not make the same mistake as I and misplace your trust. In case you decide to visit the dealership anyway, the salesperson in the review is a guy in his twenties named Brandon and the sales manager's name is Fidel(?). More
