We had an APPOINTMENT on 8/16 for the replacement of a seat clip that had failed in the back seat of our F-150 truck. We said we could leave the truck for 1 week and pick up the following Friday 8/23. Ken seat clip that had failed in the back seat of our F-150 truck. We said we could leave the truck for 1 week and pick up the following Friday 8/23. Ken Long said, "it shouldnt be more than a few days to fix. No problem." We called the day before we were supposed to pick up the truck (Thursday 8/22) to verify it would be ready. Ken stated, 'the part hadnt arrive but should be in today so just swing by after lunch to give us time to install it." We arrived at 3:30pm to pick it up and a different tech said, "Your truck isnt ready. We couldnt get to it because we had to fix our bosses car so we had to do his 1st." We were fairly upset since we drove 40 miles to pick up the truck and wasted a trip. The tech said it would be done Monday by lunch for sure, just call before you drive all the way to the dealership. Call Monday 8/23 at 9:00am to tell Ken we would be in after lunch. He checked on the status and said THE PART HADNT EVEN ARRIVED! He said, "it was ordered the previous Thursday but should arrive today." So in other words, the day I originally called to check that it would be ready as promised on the 23rd, they hadnt even ordered the part. SIX DAYS AFTER THE APPOINTMENT. IT SAT THERE FOR A WEEK WITHOUT ANYONE LOOKING AT IT. 8 days after we dropped it off for our "appointment" we absolutely had to use the truck so we picked it up Monday the 23rd not fixed. I called everyday to check on the part that never showed up. No one from Bozeman Ford ever initiated the call to let us know what was going on with our service issue. Finally the part arrive (the part is a tiny plastic lever clip by the way) September 6. We made ANOTHER "appointment" for a same day install. Ken said, it shouldnt take long. Maybe 30 mins to an hour at the most to pop this clip in." We dropped it off and ran an errand while we waited. We picked the truck up 1 hour later only to find a bill for 3.5 HOURS LABOR????? When we balked at this Ken immediately took the service invoice to "the back." He returned with the bill knocked in half. The fact that they could even do that so quickly shows they were inflating the charges to begin with! Not to mention the cheapy paper mat they put in the car so they dont "dirty" it? They charged us $9.50 for that! What?? We spent $40,000 on this truck from your dealership and you nickle and dime us for a paper service mat? Classy move Bozeman Ford. It took them 23 days to fix a plastic seat clip? It cost us of over 80 miles of driving back and forth for all these "appointments" that werent appointments at all. They didnt even look at the truck until I called to see if it was ready the day before they promised it would be. We missed 2 days of work (my wife and I both) running back and forth to the dealership only to be turned around or out and out lied to. Then we pick it up FINALLY and they charged us 3.5 hours of labor when we only dropped it off 60 mins beforehand? We expressed our outrage and anger. Ken said he would have a Customer Service person - Jan - call us the following Monday or Tuesday. That was 2 weeks ago. Needless to say we never heard from Jan. Even though this dealership is the only Ford dealership in our town, and even though we bought this truck NEW from them. We will gladly drive 90 miles to the dealership over the mountain pass just to avoid dealing with not only gross incompetence, but actual fraud. They certainly lost our future sales and service business and we are making sure everyone we know understands what incredibly poor service we received. Just because someone is the only game in town doesnt give them license to rip off their customers. You could get better service and a higher quality experience from anyone else other than Bozeman Ford. More
We broke down while on vacation in Yellowstone and had our truck towed to Bozeman Ford early on a Thursday morning. After having our truck for 6 days they finally looked at it and said we had a bad fuel p our truck towed to Bozeman Ford early on a Thursday morning. After having our truck for 6 days they finally looked at it and said we had a bad fuel pump and two bad injectors. They ordered the parts because they didn't have them in stock. We picked our truck up the next Thursday afternoon. The bill was $2,183.69, totally a fair price for the parts and labor. At this point we had no complaints. We drove exactly 69 miles and the truck lost power, the same problem we had the first time. We wiggled the wiring harness, and limped it back down the mountain and then had to be towed again. They looked at it on Friday morning and said it was running fine and couldn't find anything wrong. They said it was probably the edge chip that was going bad, so they disconnected it. We drove away and broke down with the same problem and had to be towed back 8 miles later! They looked at it again and said another injector and a PCM sensor was bad. Again they had to order the parts. They "fixed it" on Monday and took it for a test drive and broke down and they had to be towed back. They said they didn't feel comfortable releasing it to us, they wanted to look at it again on Tuesday. When we first called on Tuesday they said it sounded like two more injectors were going bad. When we got there they said the engine light came on again, so they reset it and it was running fine. They also put a new map sensor in, which we did not authorize. They wanted to put it on the computer and diagnose it some more. Two hours later they couldn't find anything wrong with it and they had no idea what was wrong with it. They said they wouldn't trust it though, it still has the same problem. At this point we just needed to get back to California. We couldn't be sure if we would make it 1000 miles or 10 miles, especially pulling a trailer. We went in to the sales department to see about buying a new truck. At this point we felt like it was our only option to get home, and they knew it. We ended up paying full sticker price for the truck, we were told by the salesman that they do not "deal" at this dealership. The truck is listed for what it is worth, and that is what they sell it for. Over $42,000! We did get the rebates that come directly from Ford. We were also told we would be getting $5,000 for trade in, $4,000 below low blue book trade in value for our old truck because it wasn't running. After questioning that because the service department now says our truck is running fine, the gave us a whole $500 more. They also refused to take off the over $900 bill we had in the service department for the last set of parts they were just throwing at the truck. We left there feeling very lucky we even had enough gas money to get home. We were from out of state, on vacation, and they knew we would not be returning customers. The service department was unable to properly diagnose and fix our truck. At this point, their mechanics should be able to work on a 7.3 diesel motor blindfolded. Over $3,200 later they were no closer to diagnosing or fixing it, and they acted like they didn't even care. Their only suggestion at that point was not trust it, and buy a new one. While dealing with the sales department we were not treated like customers should be treated. We were treated rudely, ignored while people gathered around a computer to look at pictures, told basically you will pay what we want for the truck and we will not deal with you. There were several people who were nice to us, but they were not the people we were dealing directly with. Almost like they were not told to be rude and screw over the Californians. Not only did we incur the bills from the service department and the cost of a new truck, we paid over $1,100 in rental car fees for two weeks. Just under $500 for hotel rooms while in bozeman. We also had to extend our stay at the RV park in YNP which cost another $700. It was the most horrific experience in our lives! Being trapped, 1000 miles from home, and at the mercy of some very rude, ruthless, manipulative, and greedy people. More

My 2001 focus with under 80k miles has had two broken front springs within 6 months. I called the dealership and they will not cover manufacturers defects like this. Ford is aware of the problem and ext front springs within 6 months. I called the dealership and they will not cover manufacturers defects like this. Ford is aware of the problem and extended the warranty on these to 10 years. Unfortunately they do not start to go out until 10 years. This is unacceptable and dangerous to those driving these cars. The first time I figured was a fluke thing, but I have the other side go out with a loud BANG on pavement! This is a problem associated with off-road trucks, not small ford focus . I will never go to Bozeman Ford or buy a Ford again. Also, there wasn t even a recall for this problem, just an extended warranty incase it happens during those 10 years. More
