Beware of Big Star Honda! Classic bait and switch deceptive advertising practices here at this dealership. I do not recommend this dealership at all. My experience is evident Classic bait and switch deceptive advertising practices here at this dealership. I do not recommend this dealership at all. My experience is evident that their deceptive practices are not an accidental isolated instance and one of many deceptive instances according to reviews. Big Star Honda’s deception wasted hours of my time. I called yesterday to finalize the purchase of a 2022 Civic (ads pictured) and discussed financing, and discount incentives. After having trouble getting back in touch with my first salesman, Jacob Sadler, I was passed to another sales lady. She said I would actually need to pay an additional $6,000 over MSRP to get the Civic even though the ad on Cars.com and their own site were consistent in $100 below MSRP “special offer” (see pictures). I was totally blown away with this change in terms. I then spoke to Manager Danny Tran who said the new price is not $6k but $5,000 over MSRP. I told him I felt their advertising and them changing my deal was deceptive and potentially illegal. Mr. Tran felt there was nothing wrong or misleading about increasing the price on my 2022 Civic deal and just business as usual. He went as far to say something along the lines of this is America and he can do and say what he wants. Stay away from these unethical people. More
Ruth and Freddy provided an exceptional experience for me in the purchase of my new Honda. Everything was efficient and the personal experience was far superior to any car purchase I have ever made. Teenage daughter had an issue with a Honda tire with road hazard on road trip in Houston. Our local dealer in New Orleans advised to take it to nearest Honda dealer for coverage. On April 13, Big Star road hazard on road trip in Houston. Our local dealer in New Orleans advised to take it to nearest Honda dealer for coverage. On April 13, Big Star said the tire had 7/32 wear and was rejected by the warranty company for replacement coverage due to excessive wear. I spoke to tech and he reaffirmed road hazard was applied for and denied. I authorized tire to be replaced and I was charged $294.34. On daughter's return to New Orleans, I took the car to local dealer. Both front tires had been replaced in May 2021 and the remaining original tire had 7-8/32 tread remaining. The car was in alignment. The tire manager said no way the other tire should have been denied replacement due to excessive wear with less than 13,000 miles on it. Following Following extensive communications with Big Star, they admitted the tire should have been covered but didn’t say why it wasn’t. I was promised by text that reimbursement would be mailed at the end of April. Additional communications followed but no payment has been received as of June 7. My recent communications to Big Star, and Honda North America received no personal response. Big Star did call to see if I wanted to sell them the car. Thanks but no thanks. More
