I recently discovered an oil leak on my 2020 Tacoma. I told the service adviser about it when I pulled in. I waited for my oil change and tire rotation. I was then told by my service advisor that its on I told the service adviser about it when I pulled in. I waited for my oil change and tire rotation. I was then told by my service advisor that its only “seepage” and they cannot fix it under warranty. He told me that is their “policy”. I was told the oil has to be “gushing” in order for them to repair it under warranty. My truck has just under 47,000 miles. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I will not be coming back to this dealer and this might be the last Toyota I purchase. More
Positives: Communication: Excellent Vehicle drop-off and pick-up process: Excellent Handling of auto-fixing recall issues: Excellent Addressing the specific issue for which the vehicle was brought to and pick-up process: Excellent Handling of auto-fixing recall issues: Excellent Addressing the specific issue for which the vehicle was brought to the service center: Not satisfactory. Over the past decade, I've noticed a decline in the quality and effectiveness of technicians at dealerships, and unfortunately, my recent experience aligns with this trend. I brought my new truck, which has less than 3,000 miles on it, to the dealership due to a noise issue specific to the headliner near the windshield. This noise, located above my head on the left front side, occurs when driving over rough terrain and is quite bothersome to me as the vehicle owner. During the technician's evaluation, the focus seemed to be on dashboard-related issues, despite my explicit mention of the headliner noise. The technician highlighted various unrelated items, such as a cell phone holder inside a vent, my firefighter leather shield near the windshield, and a sunglasses holder, none of which, upon removal, resolved the noise issue. Prior to returning the truck to the dealership, I had already removed these items from the vehicle, eliminating them as potential causes. While I understand that identifying such a specific complaint can be challenging, it's disappointing that the technician failed to address the actual target area mentioned in the video evaluation. Moreover, attributing the issue to my personal items, despite my efforts to rule them out beforehand, only added to the frustration of the situation. More
