Service dept was courteous and friendly. I'm an electronics engineer, so I asked ALOT of technical questions to Mick. He was patient and answered my questions to me understanding (I do my own brakes, spark plug replacement, pcv valve replacement, wiper blades, lamps, exhaust systems, etc. Been doing things on my vehicles for 45 years. Mechanically and electronically inclined. So, I ask alot of technical questions). Mick even brought out the canister (from the exhaust system) and showed me what had to be replaced (Voluntary exhaust system canister recall). Thanks, Mick. And he explained the anti-theft software upgrade for me. (in the electronics field, I've used , and loaded, software (and firmware) ALOT ! ). I had the anti-theft software updated. However, after the upgrade, I noticed the buttons and thumbwheels on my steering wheel were disabled (couldn't adjust radio volume, change radio frequencies (presets), change dash display parameters, like MPH or KMPH, service interval notifications, and so on). Had to turn around and go back to dealership to get it resolved. They knew of this side effect of the upgrade, and corrected it. But, if they knew of this side effect, why didn't they test the steering wheel buttons BEFORE i left?? I told Mick that ALL tech and mechanics should be trained on this problem (side effect) and verify it has been corrected before giving the car back to customer. Fortunately, I'm retired and had time that day to turn around and get this fixed immediately (I was not mad over this.) Overall, it was a good experience at Ganley Mentor Kia dealership. More
