We have bought several vehicles here. Salespeople are great. The service this time was excellent thanks to Chris and the technician. The call center kind of sucks. Salespeople are great. The service this time was excellent thanks to Chris and the technician. The call center kind of sucks. More
I'm based in Durham, NC and bought a certified pre-owned Jeep Cherokee. A couple of issues during the negotiation with the salesperson. First was the surprise addition of the $2,449 "New Vehicle Premium Saf Jeep Cherokee. A couple of issues during the negotiation with the salesperson. First was the surprise addition of the $2,449 "New Vehicle Premium Safety Package". This was never discussed and was added to the quote. I didn't need or want any of those things and frankly it felt like the new "undercoating" scam. I got quite upset when I was told those things had already been added and could not be removed. The salesperson eventually removed the $2,449 from the price of the Jeep while keeping it on the quote. Interestingly enough, there is no ELO GPS tracking on the vehicle and it certainly doesn't look like any kind of finish was added to the exterior or the interior. In fact, the Jeep was not nearly as detailed as I would have liked. I haven't asked my mechanic yet if there is actually nitrogen in the tires but my guess is that there isn't. The second issue during negotiation was the fees for the title and tags - $314. That's around $150 at the DMV so this was a sneaky way to capture more profit. The price was eventually reduced by $150 to offset this. The delivery of the Jeep to my home in Durham was appreciated. However, the paperwork was incorrect as the warranty page was filled out as "As Is" which was incorrect since it was certified pre-owned. When I brought this up with the finance manager, she incorrectly told me there was no warranty. This was of course upsetting given I had bought the Jeep without seeing it knowing that it would be backed by a warranty. After a while she came back and said she was incorrect, that it came with a 3 month/3,000 mile warranty. She faxed me the corrected form. On my first drive I noticed that the start/stop wasn't working and there was a message about the battery having an inadequate charge. I already had an appointment with my mechanic and asked them to check it out. The did a new vehicle inspection and found the following issues: 1) battery was bad and needed to be replaced, 2) the cabin and engine air filters were very dirty and needed to be replaced, 3) transmission fluid was old and needed to be flushed and replaced, 4) fuel system had a lot of carbon build up and needed to be cleaned, and 5) the brake fluid was dirty and also needed to be flushed and replaced. Obviously the 125-point inspection wasn’t done at all or it was done by an very incompetent mechanic otherwise these obvious issues would have been caught and addressed. I contacted the salesperson about this who apologized and was embarrassed which I appreciated. He asked me to contact the sales manager Terry. While Terry agreed to handle the cost for the repairs ($1,171.98), he provided no explanation nor was he apologetic. In the end, I am happy with the Jeep but this was not at all a pleasant buying experience. I have bought a few vehicles through Carvana and those experiences were pleasant and seamless each time. I have recommended them to friends and family as a result. I provided this same overall feedback in a survey I received from Keffer a month ago and no one has contacted me from Keffer to explain or apologize. Why even survey customers if you don't action terrible feedback? My read is that they don't care. This experience with Keffer reminded me why dealerships have a bad reputation and I certainly won’t make the mistake of buying from one again. More
Very, very Unethical Dealership. I truly regret doing business with them!! They don't do their job. Do not buy from them, 9 times out of 10, you'll regret it as I do!!! I HATE to leave negative reviews about any business but I have been beyond disappointed with my experience at Keffer. The sale process went very smooth but it has been a nightmare ever since. They installed have been beyond disappointed with my experience at Keffer. The sale process went very smooth but it has been a nightmare ever since. They installed a lift for me upon purchase and since then it has just been awful. I’ve had the vehicle there two times to fix the same problem that still isn’t fixed. Since picking it up the last time I have called FOUR times. I get the same answer every time, “I’ll put it in the system and someone will give you a call.” I have yet to receive a call back. I’ve even reached out to Jeep wave to try to resolve the problem to no success. I feel extremely shafted on the whole situation. Bought a brand new Jeep that hasn’t been right since purchase over six months ago. I would return it if possible. More
