I have been using KM Toyota for many, many years, both to purchase a new car and also for service. There have some Advisors who have done a good job, some a fair job and a few not so good. However, I have been using Oscar Araiza on a consistent basis and find him to be excellent both in customer relations and knowledge. He explains things clearly and with a great attitude. It is a pleasure to know him and grateful that KM Toyota employs him. More
I came in to have an inition key & remote replaced. I lost mine. Rey helped me & said he could get the remote programmed & a key made within an hour. Later he explained that I could get 2 keys & remotes lost mine. Rey helped me & said he could get the remote programmed & a key made within an hour. Later he explained that I could get 2 keys & remotes for a few dollars more. I agreed. Katheleen then advised me that it would be about 15 to 20 min. After 30 minutes, I looked for Kathleen as there was no information coming from anyone. She told me the key machine cut my keys wrong, but the remotes were programmed. They tried to cut a second set of keys and the same problem --- key machine issue. I was then told I could have 2 remotes but no keys except the "valet key" I came in with. Its now 2 hours into the visit. 2 remotes without a key makes no sense, I said no thanks just give me my car but then the cashier asked me for $110 for the service. What service?? No one apologized for the "machine problem" and no one tried to help me get a key. Let me suggest the following resolution, our key machine isn't working, we will keep your new remotes and get our key machine repaired at that time we will cut the 2 keys you want, add the 2 remotes and call you for pick-up of same. Instead I got $110 bill which I told them I would not pay. Kathleen apparently agreed with me as the cashier then told me there was no charge for the service. Once again, what service did I get? I would like someone to do the following: (1) contact this dealership, (2) get the key cutting machine repaired, (3) call me with an apology and an action plan that will get me my replacement keys & remotes. I was treated so poorly at Mossy Toyota that I was in tears and felt as though I made a big mistake buying a new car, yet alone a Toyota. After going to Kearny Mesa Toyota and they fixed the problem as well as went above and beyond I actually hugged Charles. Matt has worked with me several times and has always treated me so well and taken care of me. I talk about them ALL the time and love them! More
I went to the dealer for a recall repair (the infamous accelerator on the Prius, although I've never had any trouble with it), but also needed to have a few items repaired under my almost-expired 100K war accelerator on the Prius, although I've never had any trouble with it), but also needed to have a few items repaired under my almost-expired 100K warranty, as well as a small service done. Oscar greeted me, quickly set up the paperwork and made sure I understood which items would be covered by the warranty and which ones I would have to pay for (no surprises there). Because a part was not available until the next day, Oscar asked if they can keep the car overnight (while I was given a free rental car), so that was fine. The work was done professionally and quickly, I never waited more than 1-2 minutes for anyone to assist me. Great experience! More

I bought my vehicle at another dealership, but I came back to Kearny Mesa Toyota. Their service representatives seem to have a better handle on customer relations. Oscar has taken care of me in the pas back to Kearny Mesa Toyota. Their service representatives seem to have a better handle on customer relations.
