On January 4, 2023,my husband, Calvin, and I purchased a 2021 Honda Cr-V SE from Honda Cars of Katy. The listed price was $24000, I offered $23,000 and it was accepted. While the financial officer Elvis Garcia, was writing up the contract, He mentioned that they no longer did a "yellow sheet " showing the sales price and other fees; "everything was done on the computer now." He also stated that there was a warranty on the vehicle and that I should not pay for any repairs, but he never mentioned that there was a cost for the warranty. I assumed that he meant the manufacturers warranty since the mileage on the vehicle was 47386. He had us sign several pages but we never saw a page calculating the sales price plus TTl minus the $10000 down payment. I assumed we would have that in our packet of documents when I picked up the vehicle on Friday. I wrote a $10000 check for the down payment, which he was to hold until Friday when I picked up the vehicle so that I would have time to cash a CD to cover it. My son, Alan Darby, volunteered to pick up the vehicle so that I wouldn't have to make another 30 mile drive on Hwy 10, which is under construction. I am legally blind in one eye and I have trouble driving long distances in lots of traffic and my husband Calvin is disabled so he is unable to drive. I also asked him to pick up the paperwork, since I had not received any the previous day. Thomas the salesperson refused to give him the paperwork with the excuse that he was not the purchaser. My son asked to just see the paperwork and again was refused. He and my daughter-in-law, Patti Darby, picked up the vehicle but were given no paperwork. The following Monday, I went to see Mr. Elvis Garcia and requested the paperwork, since I had nothing to show that I had purchased the vehicle. He gave me a thumbdrive stating everything was on it. However, when I opened the thumbdrive, the only figure was the sales tax form showing the sales price of $28,808. Elvis told me that was the sales price plus the tax and fees. I still did not have a full accounting of the transaction. I received a notice from the loan company, Driveway Finance, with an address and the payment amount on January 18, stating that my first payment was due on February 3, 2023, which I sent because I did not want to be behind on the loan even though I still had not received paperwork with a full accounting of the price . I received a payment notice from the loan company for my March payment, and much to my surprise, the balance financed was $26,009.20. How it was possible that I purchased a vehicle for $23,000 plus TTl , put $10000 down and owed $26609.20 just didn't calculate!! I called Driveway Finance and they informed me that there was an extended warranty added to the loan. We never discussed an extended warranty: If we had, I would have declined since I do not ever buy extended warranties. I went to see Mr. Garcia the following day and he stated that he thought the salesperson had gone over it with me and had me sign a cancellation form. He also showed that I was charged a "refurbishing fee" of $2700.00. If we had been shown a full accounting of these items at the time of purchase, I would have refused to pay them. I feel foolish for not demanding to see the full worksheet before signing, but my biggest flaw is that I want to trust people. I don't know if they felt they could take advantage of 2 old people in their mid 80s , or if they pull this scam on everyone, but I will NEVER recommend them to anyone I know: in fact I am considering contacting the local TV stations in order to warn people not to do business with them or contacting my attorney. Our Honda Odyssey hit a pothole and the airbags went off, nearly causing us to wreck. When I took it to Honda Cars of Katy they were utterly unhelpful and had my wife in tears. They refused to diagnose the problem or reach out to Honda America on our behalf. All they offered to do was repair the damage (at a steep profit) to our vehicle for $8000. I don't know if Honda is going to help, but I see now that this dealership won't. Avoid them. Basic customer service is foreign to them. More
I bought a 2023 Honda Hybrid CRV from Honda Cars of Katy on 12/7/22. I also traded my 2020 CRV The MSRP of this car is 40240.00 written on the sticker on the car. They told me this include dealer add on of about $5000.00 Like tinting, Nitrogen in the tires some kind of warranty which will cover for the car Paint, and seats damage and Lojack etc, which I said I do not want but they said they have to be purchased, Then they gave me another quote, of $44000.00 for the car and $23000 Trade allowance. which I accepted. But when they made final sale they added another $3761.47 to the cost of the car. I did not check the detail trusting that they have given me a quote and they will not cheat me as there were several pages I signed the documents, Later when I checked I found this discrepancy. I went back and they have no answer for me and told me we can not do anything now. Also as I was arguing with the sales persons and other customers who were there were listening to me, They told me to go out of the dealership and do what ever you want to do. Also I was told that my car will be financed thru Honda Finance but they did it from some other company. I am warning any body who go to buy car from Honda Of Katy to be careful when you get a quote make sure it is written that it Include Addons because they will add it to your purchase price. Better not buy it from them they are thief's. I send him a Email on 12/16/2022 asking you how should I contact you and gave my phone no if you want to call me or give me your phone no where I can call you. On Tuesday 12/20 I sent another Email reminding him that how can I contact you, He replied giving me His Phone no to call him, but with a note and I quote " I looked over your information and saw the review you left on Google, Honda. Feel free to call me on the number listed in my signature. If I don't answer, I do apologize, as I have a dealership to run". since then I have called six times and left him the message and my phone no but he never returned my call and I think He had no intention of talking to me, He just wrote this note on my review so that other people who read this review will think that management is doing some thing to address my concern, I left my phone no with every call I made to you, If you wanted you could have taken out 5 minutes from your valuable time to call you. On I am assuming that all the management is also involved in this scam. Lastly I did not contact Him, He said to call me and now He is not returning my calls. READ BEFORE YOU THINK OF USING THEIR SERVICES Dropped my car to check some sound coming from windshield, they fixed some duct tape on the paint outside, paint went off, picked up the car, no courtesy to tel car to check some sound coming from windshield, they fixed some duct tape on the paint outside, paint went off, picked up the car, no courtesy to tell me about it. I went in the following day, they just acted this never happened while in the car with them. Luckily, I have a video they shared already of their tech explaining the issue and showed the duct tape on the paint spot. I raised the point, their response is not their fault since your paint is bad (my response is your tech should haven't applied tape on bad paint). Now it is back and forth, finally after a couple of days it's been to the body shop, and now I get nothing but: we don't know how long it takes kind of responses, or the advisor is off today, and he is the only one can check for since each advisor have their own customers, or leave a message, and we will call you back.. thing! One funny part, I got an email right after my service was done, signed by some name, asking me to call them on their direct number if I am not satisfied with the service, simply I did call, however the number is their switch board, and no one works in the whole dealership under that name..sweet ! Will share some update soon, or later, or actually I don't know even when..lets wait and see 🙄🙄 More

My 2016 Honda Pilot have been driving smoothly with 59K mileage. This week my pilot suddenly shows multiple warning lights at once (emissions, vehicle stability assist, hill start, trailer stability, ...). mileage. This week my pilot suddenly shows multiple warning lights at once (emissions, vehicle stability assist, hill start, trailer stability, ...). I went to Honda Cars of Katy, and they asked me to conduct a $170 diagnosis. After $170 cost, they told me that my vehicle are P0369 cmp sensor circuit intermittent interruption, so they asked another further diagnosis of $510 to proceed. I told him that this sounds like another deeper hole, another diagnosis of $510 without repairing anything. I told him that I have three kids to raise, and most people suffers a lot recent days. Will the diagnosis continue again and again? I googled "Honda Pilot P0369", found several DIY videos for repairing P0369, cost estimations, and learned more about many people also have multiple warning lights at once for their pilot model 16--19. Honda extended warranty for relating issues. Another further diagnosis of $510 seems not right. I also want to attach the screen shots of the conversations with Honda Cars of Katy. It is strange that they said "no need to have service manager signed", even the test report has a space of "service manager signature". It sounds like to avoid the responsibility of their diagnosis. 11/6/21 drove into to Katy for an oil change and something was wrong, because all of the “idiot” lights were on. I was told buy the guy in Service that one of my sensors had fallen off the front and something was wrong, because all of the “idiot” lights were on. I was told buy the guy in Service that one of my sensors had fallen off the front and they would have to order a new one, they told me it would be May before they would get it, but they would call me and let me know. Mid-Sept 22 had to take the car back in for oil change and thought I’d check with the service department about the part. I was told it still hasn’t come in & they weren’t sure when it would. Long story short…my husband checked online and guess what the exact part that I had been told they couldn’t get was in stock at every online authorized Honda parts dealer! Then my husband went out and looked at the car….guess what, the sensor was there…..it had been there the whole time! So they lied to me twice about this part! They said it fell off, they said they had to order a new one….oh did I mention the sensor is $1,989.00. So my hubby was moving the sensor to make sure it still was attached and it was, so we got in the car and started it and it worked! It didn’t need a new one! We had been talking about trading the Honda in for a new one….Nope. However the nice gentleman at AutoNation Katy gave us a heck of a good trade in on our 2018 Honda CRV…never ever again will we have to deal w/that horrible dealership…used to be great until you got new owners! Now I’m the proud owner of a brand new Ford Bronco…..full size! Please do not go to Honda Cars of Katy! More

Save your time and go elsewhere. I have always been a Toyota fan but decided to try Honda out and came to check out cars there. Spoke with online rep for two days giving them all my expectations and details in the car. Talked price and everything. Just came to see the car and make the purchase if I liked it. When I got there, the sales rep had no information on the previous transactions. He said all he received was my name and number. Nothing else. So now I had to start the process all over. He now wanted to start pulling my credit and getting all my personal information. I told him since I was here, I would like to see the car first so I know if I want to move forward. He looked me straight in the eyes and said that they don’t show cars to customers anymore before buying and no test drives. He literally told me that he doesn’t want me to waste his time by showing cars because what if I don’t buy it?! Are you kidding me??? I have never gone to a dealership where they try to run your credit and everything without even showing you the car. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had!!! I will never enter another Honda dealership again. I immediately booked an appointment with Toyota and left!!! Never again!!!!!!! More
