I spoke with several Toyota dealers, in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Using the internet to obtain quotes on the vehicle, I visited the dealers offering the most attractive price. After my price objective w and Indiana. Using the internet to obtain quotes on the vehicle, I visited the dealers offering the most attractive price. After my price objective was reached I visited the two dealers in that range. My personal feeling in dealing with Larry and the team at Joseph is they are very helpful and want to assist with my obtaining what I want at the Price I want. More

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT go to this dealership!!!! Trust me, you'll be sorry if you do. We became victims of the '99 Toyota Tacoma Buyback program for frame rust and found ourselves in dealership!!!! Trust me, you'll be sorry if you do. We became victims of the '99 Toyota Tacoma Buyback program for frame rust and found ourselves in need of a new vehicle ASAP. We knew we wanted to switch to a 4Runner and our faithful dealership didn't have any in stock so we started looking around online. After looking at a 2005 4Runner online my husband and I decided to go test drive. I am a very thorough researcher and so before even going about 45 miles and dragging our 3 year old twins out with us I wanted to make sure this was worth our effort to go look at. I asked repeatedly if it was Toyota Certified (knowing we only wanted a vehicle that was ALREADY certified) - oh yes it's been certified, was the vehicle clean - oh yes it's VERY clean, had anyone smoked in the vehicle - no not at all, was there a Carfax report - yes, how many previous owners were there - just one, were there maintenance records - yes maticulous records, etc. So we pack up the twins and go out for a test drive. Right away we feel like we are at a dirty used car lot with swindlers. The salesman (Tom) won't give us a Carfax until we testdrive it so husband goes out first while I walk around with the twins. Car is VERY dirty and I ask if it's going to be cleaned to be told its been cleaned once already but we can just cover the dirty spots with the cargo mats. Wreaks of cigarette smoke which I am very sensitive to. Again, I ask for a Carfax (total of 4 times and never received it.) Salesman couldn't answer some basic questions about features on the car (like was the tow hitch factory installed or after market, what was towing capacity on hitch etc.) had no maintenance records - Tom tells me "this was a leased vehicle and people who get leases have very high credit scores and since they have high credit they tend to be maticulous about maintaining their vehicles". WHAT?? You've got to be kidding me, that's a GIANT leap to say that because someone has great credit they take great care of their cars, come on now!! It was filthy dirty and with only 20,000 miles the tires already needed to be replaced. Anyway, figure we can take it to faithful dealership to get it detailed if the price is right so we get to asking about price and if there was any room for negotiation. Tom says oh yeah definetly. Sticker was $19,995 only came down to $19,800 and wouldn't budge. Husband overhears Tom asking his manager "Can it be certified" so we knew it wasn't certified yet which was a total deal breaker for us. Tried to show us 2 others that we knew we didn't want from looking at them on the internet. One he brought us even had corroded wheels and a HUGE dent in the trunk door. We walked right out and vowed we would stay faithful to the dealership we've been with since '98. Tom calls the next day to ask "what will it take to put you in the 4Runner you wanted" and husband tells him if he offered to us for free we wouldn't deal with them again. Don't ever deal with these swindlers. After reading some of the other reviews here (I wish I had found this site beforehand) I am even more confident in our decision. Save yourself the time and hassle and DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT go to this dealership!!! More
I took my car in to have the oil changed and to be winterized 11/22/2007, THEY WRECKED MY CAR AND NOT JUST A SCRATCH, THEY TOOK OUT THE WHOLE PASSANGER SIDE OF MY CAR!!!! YES THEY GAVE ME A LONER, BUT winterized 11/22/2007, THEY WRECKED MY CAR AND NOT JUST A SCRATCH, THEY TOOK OUT THE WHOLE PASSANGER SIDE OF MY CAR!!!! YES THEY GAVE ME A LONER, BUT THEY HAD MY CAR IN THE SHOP FOR 4 MONTHS TO FIX IT, DURING THIS TIME THEIR INSURANCE COMPANY SENT ME A CHECK 12/07, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS COMPENSATION FOR WRECKING MY CAR, I HELD ONTO THE MONEY UNTIL I RECEIVED MY CAR BACK,APPOX APRIL 2008 AND WHEN THEY DIDN'T ASK FOR THE CHECK UPON PICKUP I WAS SURE IT WAS COMPENSATION FOR YHE WRECK. I HAD TO TAKE MY CAR BACK TO GET THE DOOR HANDLE REPLACED AND AT THAT TIME WHICH WAS THEN 5 MONTHS SINCE I RECEIVED THE CHECK AND OVER A MONTH SINCE MY CAR WAS RETURNED THEY WANTED THE MONEY OR I COULDN'T GET MY CAR BACK. NEEDLESS TO SAY I DIDN'T HAVE ALL THE MONEY ANYMORE, I TRYED TO WORK OUT A PAYMENT PLAN AND MR DAVE NIEHAUSER WOULD NOT WORK WITH ME AND HE HAD THE AUTOBODY MAN CALL AND TELL ME THEY WERE GOING TO HOLD MY CAR! TO BOOT THIS ALL TOOK PLACE AROUND 4:30 PM WHERE I ONLY HAD 30 MIN TO TRY TO WORK IT OUT BEFORE THEY CLOSED. I DRIVE MY CAR FOR A LIVING, MY JOB IS NOT A STATIONARY JOB AND I TOLD MR. NIEHAUSER THIS, HE DIDN'T CARE SO AS FAR AS THEY ARE CONCERNED THEY WANT THEIR MONEY AND THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT IF I DON'T HAVE MY CAR I WILL LOSE MY JOB WHICH WOULD RESULT IN ME BEING UNABLE TO PAY THEM MEANING THAT I ALSO WOULD BE UNABLE TO PAY FOR MY CAR WHICH WOULD RESULT IN THE BANK REPO-ING THE CAR. I WILL LOSE EVERYTHING. NOW I SEE HOW PEOPLE END UP HOMELESS WITHOUT ANYTHING WITH PEOPLE LIKE MR NIEHAUSER IN CONTROL. I WILL LOSE MY JOB, MY HOUSE, EVERYTHING, SO WHEN I AM STANDING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH A SIGN THAT SAYS I AM HOMELESS AND HUNGRY BECAUSE JOSEPH TOYOTA PUT ME HERE PLEASE DON'T PASS ME BY. More
At 2,200 miles, my 2007 Toyota Sienna was stinking on the interior and my husband determined it was leaking in the right front. Took it to Joseph Service Dept, they called the next day and said there was no interior and my husband determined it was leaking in the right front. Took it to Joseph Service Dept, they called the next day and said there was no leak. Brought it home, sprayed it w/hose and the interior was wet again. Took it back to Joseph. They subletted the repair out and called to tell me two bad welds were repaired, ready to go. I insisted they replace the carpet because it was stinking. Two weeks later, I went to pick it up and it was a joke. The carpet they put in it was not made for my van and it did not fit at all. A joke. They ordered the correct carpet and 2 weeks later I went to get it again (3rd time). This time the carpet was all wrinkley and puckered, not tucked in well, gaps around moldings. Again, I refused it. My original salesman told me that, to remedy the situation, I would have to take a cut, but I could trade it in for a "new" van. And my van had 2,200 miles on it!What a joke, at my expense. I told them I wanted a new van. They refused. This time, they took apart a brand new van from their lot and switched carpets with mine (pity the person who buys that van). This time, when I picked it up, the carpet fits so-so, but now they have scratched like 15 interior trim pieces in the van, big gouges down the back of both front seats, door trim panels, etc etc. I have went thru Toyotas arbitration process and they basically told me that Toyota took care of the leak and replaced the carpet. Joseph Toyota is the one who messed up my van, not Toyota. Gimme a break! Are they not the Toyota authorized representative??? Terrible experience with Toyota and Joseph that I am still trying to resolve. Never ever again! Buyer beware! More
If you deal with this dealer over the internet BEWARE! We had come to repeated (i.e., re-confirmed) sales agreements over the internet concerning a Prius 08 package 1. After the test drive, we find that all the prius we wanted was sold out (this happens). So we asked when the next shipments would come in. The sales person responded that he wasn't sure, probably about a month. So, he offered to order what we wanted from factory. We thought that'd be great so we could upgrade to a package 2 prius, which was cool because we wanted the extra safety features that it offered. The next day, we waited for the salesperson to tell us how much it would cost to have the car special shipped. We confirmed and re-confirmed the price the same day, and the next day drove 45 miles to finalize the paperwork to buy. But! We came on on an unexpected day, and found they had just gotten in a new shipment of Prius (this only 2 days after we were told it'd be about a month). We looked further and found that both the original type of car we wanted (package 1) and the upgraded (package 2) were available on the lot. With the previous DOCUMENTED sales agreements in hand, we said, hey, let's buy the one on the lot. why special order one that's already here. BUT. The dealership refused to honor our printed, documented sales agreements, and jacked the price of the package 1 $700 above our previous agreement. So, we said, in that case let's just go with the special order, since that's a package 2 and is $100 cheaper than the quote you're giving today. They didn't honor that one either. We were shocked, as they honored neither previous agreement. During the argument that ensued, we said, this is horrible and people need to hear about this. The sales manager said, "I don't care if you give me a bad review on the internet becuase it's not effecting my profits." What kind of service is that? They were dishonest and quite disrespectful. The price they ultimately tried to push on us was $500 below MSRP and was a full $1000+ dollars different than the written agreement that encouraged us to drive all the way down there in the first place! I went to have the recommended mileage service work done and because the Check Engine light was on. They did not do all the maintenance work that they advertised would be done, and some of the work that the and because the Check Engine light was on. They did not do all the maintenance work that they advertised would be done, and some of the work that they did they didn't do correctly. They completely ignored the Check Engine issue. I complained all the way up to the owner. They refused to give me a refund and they never offered to redo the work that should have been done. They eventually offered to overcharge me to have additional work done related to the Check Engine light and the Trac Off light, which came on after their shoddy maintenance job. More
I was looking at several cars from Toyota, including the Prius (06 or 07), Rav 4 (07) or Corolla (07). My test driving experience with this dealer is good. As far as this goes, they are friendly and courteo Prius (06 or 07), Rav 4 (07) or Corolla (07). My test driving experience with this dealer is good. As far as this goes, they are friendly and courteous; they'll let me test drive pretty much any car I wanted (at least the ones I was looking at). The problem comes at the time of negotiating the purchase price. At least with me, they wanted to charge full MSRP + TTL for the new car and only offered a fraction of the Kelley Blue Book for my trade it. Now, I can probably understand that they would want full MSRP for the Prius (although today, end of 06 and start of 07, the Prius is not as hot or scarce as it used to); but it was extremely hard to talk them down on all prices. Now, I'm not expecting them to discount 6000 dollars from the car, I am not unreasonable, but with them conceding a couple hundred sounded like I was stealing. And don't get me started with what they wanted to offer for my trade it. They were offering less than half of the KBB value; I know my car, I know what condition it is in and I know exactly how much it is worth... so, in essence, if I had agreed to their trade in offer, it was so low that they would have made at least a 260% profit on it (yes, profit). Now, don't think that I'm opposed to profit, far from it; but there's a big difference from making money and taking unscrupulous advantage of your customer. I did not try to make them offer me more for my trade it, by the time we got to that part of the negotiation I was so tired trying to bring the sale price on the new car that I just said forget it and left. Oh, they did ask me, "well, what will it take then for you to drive out of here with the new car". I just said: that you give it away for free and walked out. More

When I let them know that the gas tank was leaking profusely, they offered to make a better deal on another used vehicle when I was ready but that they would NOT take back the Camry. The salesman, who was soon fired, told me that the car needed a new muffler. No problem, right? Wrong! The entire exhaust system had to be replaced before I even owned the car for a month! 6 months of ownership has required over $3,000 in repairs so far. I love Toyotas, but there is NO WAY I would even consider Joseph Toyota. I will seek out a dealership with integrity and honesty first when I go shopping this fall! More
